Smart hub plus issues

Hi all.  I upgraded to 900mbps fibre the other week and moved from BT to EE and all was well for the first few weeks. But this past week, the signal from my smart wifi hub has been awful.  Places in the house where unused to get a good signal, I get next to nothing with a drop off to mobile data a lot. Has anybody else noticed any issues?

my hub is in the same place and my home set up hasn’t changed at all.

I guess spending 40+ years in IT at all levels gives me extensive knowledge of some things, many years ago for my sins I was even in one of BT’s central design teams. I do know what a good professional group should look like. I didn’t expect the technician to necessarily configure everything, but it is described as an “Expert visit”  not just a technician and we can debate what an “Expert” is, I did expect the visitor to show me the front ends, generally how they are managed and have some knowledge and at least give me a route to either how I may complete the setup or follow up any issues. He didn’t even plug everything in, he seem to get something working and do a runner.
if you have a proper support service ( also the service should have a clear view of escalation procedures etc) , it is usually fairly clear the route to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th line support etc, not necessarily by the customer, we should know how to get to 1st, 1st should know 2nd etc, usually there is a ticketing system to raise faults etc.

I had a DrayTek router which is fairly comprehensive,I did like it, but I didn’t necessarily need all of it, I was using a relatively small part of it and I was hoping that the BT/EE hub had improved sufficiently that I could use it.  I am still deciding if I can or can’t.  Thanks for the link

@Davidcrosby To make it easier, if you post what you want to do/or would like to do, those are easier to help and to answer, there are so many foibles to the EE Smarthub+ router, so locked down, some things you have already mentioned, all of the support from the forum is from customers like your self, with varying degrees of experience, like your self i also have the same time frame of work, i am an engineer, there is a wide difference in home/business use, and there will not be many LARGER companies hanging a ISP router of there network. and for the expert visit, if as you say was he from EE or a subcontractor, you have probably worked out now what that means after your interface with him, it can be daunting for the now younger generation, training is not what it was like 48 years ago when i first started out, if you can use a mobile phone/ work a tablet or computer, then you can call yourself whatever you want, it just does not work that way. Assessing the ability of what is in front of you can be easy or hard... And from your opening part on the last post why did you let it go so easily.

I think for myself, just let it go and i will sort it all out and get it done the way i wish, that is what i did!

I let it go because he had already said I don’t do any of that and I had ascertained he was clueless and not particularly forthcoming, of course that was before I realised the “support group” wasn’t great either and I will need to spend time working out how I can integrate into my network and hopefully there are no show stoppers or at least I can work round it. I have a fair number of devices. There is a query, there appears to be two apps. I have been using one of them, but there is a part which references a home App which seems a bit odd, is that required for some things ?

@Davidcrosby Home app is used for another particular older router which you do not have, historic, the EE app Home,Work Play is the one, version 5.49.0 was the current but will go check again as you raised the question.

Version is still current, changes and is reviewed ever 2-3 week cycle, few things update, get repaired, broken etc, one of the newer is remote access feature but not many have worked it out, a lot of people complain about it, but not a mobile app fan by a long shot, it is what it is, and you have to do somethings with it for the router, heads up to that for you.
