Smart hub flashing green

Happily watching a YouTube documentary, then all of a sudden video stops, the hub starts flashing green. Not aqua, not yellow, fully green about once a second. Any ideas?

Welcome to EE's Home Broadband Forum.

Have you just joined EE BB or were you already with EE BB? How long has this been happening?

What does it say after you log into the router:

  • For a BrightBox: in the Internet section on the initial Status page or
  • For a Smart Hub: on the Advanced Settings > Broadband > Internet page?

Obscure your names & any digits in the BB Username but post the 1st 2 parts of the IP addy. This will tell us at which stage EE have got to.

Is this for ADSL BB or Fibre? Which router, BrightBox 1 or 2 or Smart Hub?

Does the landline phone work? Do you get a dial tone? Does it announce your correct no. when you dial 1470 17070?

Joined yesterday, long standing EE mobile customer.

I can’t log into the router as it’s not even showing up as a viable option to connect to to get on the internet, was working fine until about 1900hrs

ADSL BB  I think? It plugs into the phone socket on the wall.

I don’t have a landline handset or landline account

Tried that. It is not connecting. Even through Ethernet. There is no internet connection.

there is no local network, it is purely flashing green. No wireless, no wired, no nothing. Just flashing green. Which it isn’t meant to be able to do according to the booklet and this website.

I mean if I’d ordered a green flashing box it would be great. However it doesn’t actually connect to the internet which is pretty much it’s only job

It also doesn’t matter what I plug into it or out of it. Broadband cable, Ethernet cable, nothing interrupts the green flash. If only the power is plugged in, green flash, reset button? Green flash, only way it changes is if I unplug or turn the power off with the button on the back.
