Smart Hub plus 7 - Always use this IP address Issue

Hi all,

I have just switched from Sky to EE.

I have the new Smart Hub 7 Plus and although most of it works, i have a couple of issues.

1. When i try to turn on "Always use this ip address" for devices on my LAN it won't toggle. Therefore i cannot set fixed LAN addresses for smart devices etc around the home.   (I changed the DHCP Range/Router IP to match Sky's)

2. Port forwarding, although works, creates two entries every time.

Frustrating for the most simplest of functions.

Anyone have the same issue or can help shed some light on what might be the cause.

Is it a bug in the firmware, as i can see previous models had this working ok.

@sedling Hopefully you are now squared away, just incase you missed this earlier in the posting.

"" Beware of Range Extenders that have the setting on them USE this device as a DHCP Server.... "", Tp-Link RE's can be real messy with this, but fixed static IP does help with that.

@sedling If you get a minute, not sure which Tp-Link model you are using, but if you can post it up as this model EE Hub - with this Tp-Link model RE is one to watch out for as a potential clash, does not matter at all the BT Hub worked, there are no two alike and as you have found out things go pear shaped fast... Will be handy if anyone else comes across the posting.👍👌

Sure @JimM11 this is an EE Smart Hub 7 Plus rev. 4.27.1.

The extender is a low end TP-Link TL-WA850RE, which I am using as a wireless bridge from the Smart Hub 7 Extender to a PoE attached ReoLink camera.

I actually have the Smart Hub 7 Extender just 15 feet away, the TP-link is just used as a bridge to avoid lots of messy cabling!

As you note, the default setup on the TL-WA850RE has DHCP set to auto.

Thanks for your help.

@sedling No problems, and thanks for the reply as said earlier may help others if they come across the posting. Hope it all holds fast for you now....
