There are two of us that are gamers in our house and we've been finding that if we're both playing games at the same time we get frequent lag spikes. I had a quick look at what's going on with Wireshark and it looks like the router is spamming SSDP messages during these events which indicate it might be having some issues keeping up with NAT for both devices at the same time.
Has anyone else had similar problems? Any ideas as to a fix?

@BlockyMan what router and what service/speed broadband do you have?

Its a Smart hub Plus on 900 mb FTTP.

@BlockyMan I am not a gamer, but a better router with QOS would ensure that both game machines are able to better share the available bandwidth.
If you are able to run a Bandwidth Quality Monitor from Think broadband it should give you a better idea of how your router and line are performing

I've got some other tools that measure bandwidth etc and that looks ok. I can see via wireshark that the router goes through several loops of SSDP notify messages over the same ports before resetting some of the connections - all this lines up with the lag events so it's something to do with the routers UPNP behaviour rather than allocation of bandwidth.
