Smart Hub Pro Wifi 7 MLO Backhaul

Hello,

I'm considering getting the EE Smart Hub Pro WiFi 7, but can anyone confirm if the wireless backhaul connection uses MLO, e.g both the 5GHz and 6GHz connections for the wireless backhaul?

Regards,

Liam

@liamscor MLO is not wireless backhaul, but do believe that the Pro router and the Smart wireless try hard to use the 6Ghz connection as the backhaul when they are working hand in hand with each other. There was a wi-fi 7 posting with some MLO on it, will try to find and link below if found. Not finding much will keep checking. Just have to read and see if anything helps with regards to MLO operation, would think router MAY be up there by now, not sure if all functional trying that through smart wireless device connection. Final part link to info about the router, play close attention to antenna number.

@liamscor   EE seem reluctant to show specs on their equipment recently. But ISP Review are a bit more forthcoming https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2024/09/ee-uk-makes-new-wi-fi-7-smart-hub-pro-broadband-router...

Seems yes.

Hello,

Thanks @Mustrum  and @mikefairgrieve  for your responses, that is very helpful.

@JimM11 I must have got confused, since I heard that the new netgear orbi 770 uses both the 5GHz and 6GHz backhaul simultaneously using MLO where possible, so was just wondering if the EE Smart Hub Pro router was the same.

Anyway thank you everyone for your help.

Regards,

Liam

@liamscor For MLO 6Ghz is not a requirement, but all of this is dependant on what BOTH systems settle on and agree too.

What is WiFi 7’s Multi-Link Operation (MLO)? | TP-Link
