Smart Hub 7 Pro Firmware not updated to the latest version

NealB71

Cauld someone please advise why my Smart Hub 7 Pro has not updated to the latest firmware?

The Web UI and EE App both state that my hub and 2 extenders firmware versions are r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 and I know there have been at least 3 updates since this which the latest being FW: r3.35.24-R-1648110-PROD-84001.

The reason I am asking is due to not being able to set a static IP of my choice to any of my devices, which the latest firmware version is supposed to fix.

Is there anyway to force the update or update the hub and extenders manually?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi everyone.

I have been in touch with our support team, and they have confirmed that r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 is currently the correct firmware version for the Smart Hub 7 Pro. Later version numbers apply to other Hubs or new activations.

When your router is due a firmware update, it will be automatically pushed through as expected.

I hope this helps,
Linzi

No, EE will fire any firmware updates at your router when it's good and ready.

@NealB71 You are wrong you have a mix of FW for a Pro and a Plus wifi 7 Hub, the info below is what the PRO get's....

FW: r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 and the gui is at App version 3.1.3. 17/09/2025 Now https://
FW: r3.8.25-R-1595997-PROD-1 and the gui is at App version ?.?.?. 23/12/2025
FW: r3.8.26-R-1595999-PROD-1 and the gui is at App Version is 3.1.3.19 24/12/2025

Thanks for the correction, still doesn’t explain though why my hub hasn’t been updated the the latest firmware that was released in December.

@NealB71 That is a question for EE CS as to why it was skipped, you cannot force an update and EE control it all to when it get's pushed no one else! The only thing you need to do is be sure that the hub is on and powered when EE does it all in the Early hours off the morning when you are fast asleep! Some people switch them off to save electricity my dad was one off those, all power went off 10pm when he went to bed just his way off thinking NO MATTER what!

It seems that the latest firmware upgrade has  only gone out to recently distributed routers. I've been on the older firmware since September last year. My router is on 24/7.

@tnj Have you per chance raised that question at all with EE customer Support, think you have been doing some useful fault finding for them, they may have changed the operation for the FW upgrade and skipping some that should not be...

Yes really strange even when you factory reset and remove the app start fresh it says updating but nothing updates with clean install.

@FAM0422UK Sorry don't see what any of that has to do with a FW upgrade getting pushed to the EE Hub can you say what you believe would be to happen doing it or part of that at all?

@tnj  I strongly suspect that if you were to acquire a grey market Pro router that is brand new with the box seals intact it would upgrade to the latest version of the firmware
