Cauld someone please advise why my Smart Hub 7 Pro has not updated to the latest firmware?
The Web UI and EE App both state that my hub and 2 extenders firmware versions are r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 and I know there have been at least 3 updates since this which the latest being FW: r3.35.24-R-1648110-PROD-84001.
The reason I am asking is due to not being able to set a static IP of my choice to any of my devices, which the latest firmware version is supposed to fix.
Is there anyway to force the update or update the hub and extenders manually?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hi @NealB71
I'd love to have this double checked with our support team for you. I'll send over a Private Message so I can take a couple more details.

Linzi, it might be useful to report back here as I don't think anyone who has had the Pro router for more than a few months has received the latest firmware updates.

My smart hub pro last received an update October 2025...
r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1
App version: 3.1.3

I've had my Smart Hub Pro plugged in since December and mine is also stuck on:
App version: 3.1.3
Firmware version: r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1
A factory reset didn't help.

Hi everyone.
I have been in touch with our support team, and they have confirmed that r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 is currently the correct firmware version for the Smart Hub 7 Pro. Later version numbers apply to other Hubs or new activations.
When your router is due a firmware update, it will be automatically pushed through as expected.
I hope this helps,

I am curious as to why new activations get a later version of firmware?

@Linzi_H That just does not make any sense at all, has there been a Hardware change to the now EE Smart Hub 7 Pro version (New Name) that requires a different version of FW applied?

Hi @JimM11 @tnj
It isn't related to hardware. We needed to make a small change to the firmware, specifically for the setup process for newly activated routers. Routers that were already activated didn't need this change. The difference in current firmware versions between the routers is minimal.
As soon as a firmware update is required, it will be rolled out automatically.
