Sky Q box disconnecting from EE Router every day

As title suggests, every day at least once my sky q box is disconnecting from my new EE Router.

I am conecting via Wireless and it is connected using the 2.4ghz connection which I can see in my routers web portal.

I have seen a lot of posts about this over the last year but even the posts that are marked as "Answered" don't have a clear answer as to why this is happening,

None of my other devices disconnect and I am getting good speeds from my other devices.

Any advice on this is welcome as it's driving me nuts! Thanks in advance.

Try setting up Compatible WiFi on the router under Advanced > Wireless Settings & connect your device to that.

Hi @Ryzodd

This is very common, basically the Sky kit does not work well with third party devices or internet. This is an old issue and not limited to EE.

Thanks

@Ryzodd Sky Q works well on third party gear, had it on my son's vodafone connection for over 2 years, and now on his Virgin Router with no issues, but it does like to be on a wpa2-psk and if you do turn on the 5G at anytime likes to be on channel 36.

Cant say about the EE Router but you will have to drop onto compatible to get wpa2 if required on the Plus or Pro!

Thanks, after messing about with it I think it could be to do with the DHCP lease expiring and the box not reconnecting so I've tried assigning a static IP and will check it tomorrow to see if it's still happening.

If it is I will definitely try this!
