Should I upgrade from BT to EE Broadband?

Hello. After some advice and if anyone can share their experiences of migrating from BT to EE broadband?

My current situation: using BT Smart Hub 2 Wi-Fi 5, 150mbps Full Fibre which for the most part does the job. Am finding issues with the range however. Struggles to get full connection / speeds upstairs in 3 bed house and sometimes to my Ring Doorbell outside. Having to use a Wi-Fi booster disc for upstairs which appears to have helped a bit.
Bandwidth wise, running usual household devices, Smart TV, games consoles, Ring doorbell, laptops, iPhones etc... no issues with speeds / lagging and anything TV wise is ran via ethernet cable.

Looking into EE Wi-Fi 6 with Smart Hub plus. as I hear Wi-Fi 6 extends the range without the need for boosters. Just wondered how has your experience been with range?

Also seeing it costs a bit more to change to Wi-Fi 6. I'm already paying £32 per month on BT (not including what I'm already paying for EE TV / TNT Sports also)

So the question is, is it really worth changing to EE or should I just stick with BT? If anyone can share their experience / recommendations, would be much appreciated. Thanks very much.

@TJF001 If you currently require a booster with the old, then expect to require a booster with the new. Wi-Fi6 is not a magic pill, distance does not increase because it is wi-fi6.... If you have BT complete wifi disk's depending on what you get from EE, wi-fi 5 router will work with them, wi-fi 6 NOT. EE Smarthub+ the EE Smart wireless Plus....

As matt_124 has pointed out be sure to check the mobile coverage checker if not with EE for mobile and take it with a pinch off salt, but yes the mobile plan at whatever the current deal price happens to be is a huge saving and speed reduced but they also have a slightly higher speed for a slightly higher cost also.

If you switch to EE, unless going for a speed of 900 Mbps or higher, you will likely be made to keep your existing BT Smart Hub 2. On EE there is the option to add WiFi 7, via the Smart WiFi Pro add-on at £10pm which may make a more meaningful impact than WiFi 6 would from a coverage perspective.

No straightforward way to upgrade to WiFi 6 when transferring over from BT unfortunately, and if your extender is currently on loan from BT they would ask for this back unless you agreed to maintain the Smart WiFi addon at £7pm on your new EE contract, or charge a non-return fee.

The only other benefit over being on BT would be if you currently have, or are interested in taking, EE Mobile products.

Existing EE Mobile customers taking EE Broadband get an Unlimited Data Boost on their current plan, and the option for EE One Offers when they're upgrading or taking a new plan. These are discounted Unlimited Data SIM Only and Flex Pay airtime plans starting from £11.50 per month on a 1-month rolling contract.

Can make for some sizable savings depending on the household.
