What on earth is with ee hardware being absolute trash. Using same as BT cable /openreach but new router’s wifi is barely pushing 30mb while cable is solid 900-1100mb !?
the package is 1gb switched from BT to EE just to change price to lower for same package.
first 2 weeks wifi was solid 450mb on all wifi devices, it’s dropping out and have barely 30mb speed.
restarted, reseted - nothing works, EE over phone sending openreach engineer to have a look as they think its external now, although cable is at 900-1100mb.

Hi @RGL
Thanks for coming to the community.
Please let us know how you get on after the engineer has visited and completed the checks needed.
Thanks 🙂

Which router has EE supplied you with? The black Smart Hub or the white Smart Router?
- The EE Smart Hub is based on the BT HH6 (Type B) or BT Smart Hub 1.
- The EE Smart Router is based on the BT Smart Hub 2.

Now engineer just said that its not openreach but ee issue. Theyll need to supply some new version of router as current one has buggy firmware. Also new one has wifi 6e? Is that right?

No EE router has WiFi 6 anymore than any BT router. It's possible the EE Smart WiFi Disks do but I haven't seen anything on it.

@RGL that sounds like partial information from the engineer.
As I am sure you know no ISP can supply fool proof Wi Fi speeds throughout your premises, although BT Sky and maybe others do have have whole home packages. The latest BT one offers Wi Fi 6, not 6e though. https://shop.bt.com/brands/bt/whole-home-wi-fi-6
Given the White Smart Router and based on the BT Smart Hub 2 there should be no difference in performance. What routers firmware are you on, when was it last updated?
