Router delivery

Hi, switching from BT, officially as 23:59 tonight yet haven't had the new equipment or even a dispatch note and can't see where to check status if order in the website.

I work from home so will ee work in my BT equipment or am I losing broadband tomorrow?

@Torkijo If your switch is like for like, then all of your BT equipment will work as before, you may not be getting anything from EE if it is deemed that what you have from BT is sufficient for the BB operation service of EE. Any e-mails from EE and if so your EE account if setup has on orders section. Do not be surprised if you are not getting anything sent to you. In theory it should be a smooth switch over transition.

@Torkijo  not all customers coming from BT to EE get a new router, not sure what majic formula is used to decide who gets one, but your current  BT router will work exactly the same on EE.

The email says I am and I have been asked to return smarthub and discs so would hope I am. 🙂

@Torkijo Well that is a different scenario that you have now, some advice, keep your BT Equipment until you are happy that the EE swap over is 100% to your satisfaction, DO NOT rush to post back the BT, you have up to 60 days to return it.

I would keep the BT on for a couple of day's as it should be a straight switch and everything should be transparent in operation. Do you currently have a phone line, and are you on DV with it, would advise you to let us know what BT router that you have just now? If you are not sure, BT site explains there versions of routers.

Equipment is normally sent couple of days before switch over, in a BT - EE switch that is a little bit less of a requirement unless phone becomes a problem depending on the service...

Ho, it's a smart hub 2, losing the phone as we switch as only my folks and Spam use it so going to just mobile.

Yes re the return, was going to wait at least a week or so to check all working.

@Torkijo There can also be just automated response in e-mails etc, so you only have to worry about getting the EE router and any smartwifi units to replace what you have, this is a BT switch to EE so if it does not go according to plan only you can let the forum know, all customers like your self, and there is no account info for who/what/were/when... Working from home will also have zero influence in the switch over, hope that you just get an text from EE that you are now on the service and it all goes smooth.

@Torkijo   what speed service are you going to get when you come to EE?

Is it 500Mbps or more and have you taken any of the "extras"? Hybrid Connect, WiFi enhancer, or do you use DDNS and so on?

If not there have been a few people preferring the BT Smart Hub2

Hi, just 33-37mps as best can get where I live at moment, gone for smart WiFi boosters as well as currently have 3 discs from BT to get housewife coverage.

@Torkijo You will find the EE help good, but to get you started two links below, and setup your boosters using the Network option!
