Hi
I am hoping someone on here can help as I’ve been on the phone to EE support three or four times a day for three weeks.
I have the Smart Hub 6 router and it constantly restarts throughout the day. Between 6am and 11pm it happens around 8 or 9 times.
Things I have tried - new router. New power cable to router. Three different sockets (wall and extensions from other parts of the house). I have also even changed the plug to the Open Reach box on the wall.
Every time I speak with EE they run a diagnostic and everything is fine. I then get assigned an engineer who runs a test on the line to the house. And after seeing that all is ok. They close the case. This has happened three times now.
I am at a loss as to what to do next. Can anyone advise? TIA

@maccy20 Have you logged into the EE Router with the web Manager and looked at the logs, you need to define the ""Smart Hub 6 router and it constantly restarts throughout the day"", The log file should clear and show you if it is a complete restart of the system by the time stamp etc! Multiple Router's and changing power etc, you also say new power cable so does that mean you are aware of the Faulty PSU for the 6+ Router!

Hi
Thanks for the reply. Yes the log shows nothing further back than the last time it restarted. So each time I look I only have a couple of hours of log to look at.
Define Restart - everything loses connection to the hub. TV phones. Laptops. When I get to the router the lights are either off or on orange and flashing before going back to the usual green light.
I asked about faulty hubs and cables and was told the batch I have been sent twice is not from the ones with known errors. The barcode was checked.
Thanks

@maccy20 Take a look at the link below, you mention lights, there is only one for the 6+ Router!
https://ee.co.uk/help/broadband/getting-started/compare-our-range-of-broadband-hubs
Status and Uptimes will show you, restart at a specific time and it should always be ongoing, if the hub reboots expect the time to reset and start back from zero!

Yes there is just the one light. But it turns different colours. So when I get to the router. The light is off. Then starts flashing orange. Then turns green

Could well be a faulty PSU; has its symptoms - see EE Sending out Replacement Power Supplies for its Smart Hub Plus's. Apply to CS for a replacement.

I am onto my third PSU. And they are used in multiple sockets.

it’s just happened again. It always say eth0 and eth4 up and then a few seconds later they are down. Is this the issue? And what does that even mean??

It is aqua. Then it turns off. No light. Then flashes orange for a little while. Then turns aqua again. All devices then reconnect to WiFi. Two hours later it happens again. Router goes off. Orange light. Then Aqua. Repeat 8 or 9 times a day
