Hi Everyone!
Please see my review below,
1). Engineer Appointment was 8am-1pm and the gentleman arrived around 9:15am and gave a courtesy call 10 mins before too!
2). Swapped the little ONT box within 5 minutes, just took off and added new one - turned everything on and started working!
3). Gave the Hub Pro a few minutes and was hitting max speed!
4). My iPhone 16 Pro Max is able to get around 1.4Gb download max from the hub, up from 840Mb from my Eero 6E router (TalkTalk).
5). PC is almost at 1.7Gb Down with Ethernet.
6). Disappointing to see you cannot hide your SSID / not Broadcast Your Wifi Signal - but it is what it is I guess.
7). Not sure if I need to opt out of "EE WiFi" which makes you a public WiFi hotspot? - can anyone advise on this please?
8). Overall, higher latency on EE than TalkTalk but much faster speeds - not sure if I'll keep or switch back as Latency is more important than Speed to me. Disappointed in this - EE has 2-4x more latency than TalkTalk - I will see if this will settle over next 24-48 hours.
9). Furthest Room in my home (3-storey) gets 600 - 700Mb which is excellent. The same spot with Virgin Media (1Gb) would get 150 - 300Mb using their router and wifi booster in the same location as EE's Pro Hub and Extender. I appre you don't need such fast speeds however for battery life, the quicker load times and stronger signal I'm hoping will help!
I think that's everything, so conclude,
Great Speeds, Easy Set Up.
Higher Latency - most important for me - so I will most likely cancel this and go back to TalkTalk.

That’s really interesting,
It makes a big difference,
but using the same equipment beyond the router.
I will run the check when I’m back home to confirm what you suggested also,
But it is disappointing that EE isn’t closer to TalkTalk.

I appreciate that,
But I was testing from the same point,
I will try London later though,
Can you post test result and the specific server & I’ll also test to that particular server?

You're right, pinging London (YouFibre) reduced it by 50%:

Confirming I have cancelled the service due to higher latency and increased jitter on the line.
As great as the speed & Wifi 7 is - the 2-4x better latency on TalkTalk was more important to me !
Thanks for everyone helping & contributing !

It would be interesting to see how a buffer bloat test works out on that router.
This is my result after a bit of tweaking on a pfSense based router on EE 900
This can be more important for online gaming if there are other people using the connection.

@CarbonStar During your brief testing period, was there anything specific regarding operation of the new 1.6Gb/s package and the wi-fi7 package in general that you consider failure.

I really don't understand the issue but each to their own I suppose.
2-4x sounds massive but you're using a multiplier which doesn't accurately describe the ping. 2-4x on a 20ms ping is huge and discernable.
What you're describing as 2-4x ping increase is infact an increase of ping amounting to a single digit increase. If you're in the top 0.01% of gamers maybe you'd have a use case for that, but weighing up that minor increase in ping compared to the massive download speed increase, what would actually affect you in real world day-to-day usage aside from in the back of your mind knowing ping has slightly increased by an amount that more than likely has no real world effect?

I did test this and got a A+.
No one else is using this line.
All my WiFi devices are on a separate VM 1Gb line.

Only the fact of higher latency.
Everything was bang on perfect.

I’ve already stated that I do game on USA and European servers where I saw elevated pings.
This is far more noticeable and unacceptable - especially when I can and did get far lower.
