Re: Replace EE Smarthub with Modem-Only for use with Orbi Router

Hi, Currently with Virgin Media and have their Broadband with Superhub in modem mode which is linked to an Amplifi Alien router which I am quite happy with. I am in process of switching to EE, and was looking to use the EE Hub in modem mode to link to the Amplifi Alien, but after reading the above, I see the EE hub doesn't have this facility.

I can get my hands on a vigor V167  but will it work satisfactorily with the Alien. Advice at this stage is welcome as I'm in 14 day cooling off period.

@yamafs1e : To which EE BB package are you considering switching?

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.

Hi, Its the Full Fibre 500

@yamafs1e : You don't need a separate modem. Full Fibre (FTTP) runs off the ONT (installed by OR) which acts as the modem.

Ah, so the EE Hub will work with the Alien?

@yamafs1e : Maybe the Alien would work straight off the ONT w/out needing the EE SH+ router if you don't want a digital landline.
