Says that modern PCs are backward compatible with old router so can use new one until FTTP gets done.

Don't want to go on about which pc but an all in one is what got eye on.. Only for simple use and dad simple for family use. Thinking  intel i5, 8gb ram which is expandable as opposed to i3, 16gb as can't upgrade processor.. Would like core i5 16gb but that's £700 which for what I use pc for is bit steep. Need reputable place to buy as had bad experience with Amazon for pricey tech.

@JimM11 : OK, my PC fails only on its Intel i7 processor 😞 . It is TPM 2.0 conformant.

@gazmix_1973 : Install & run PC Health Check to check where your PC fails W11.

@XRaySpeX

No way to upgrade that PC to take W11. Like mine, let down by its CPU.

yeh well is old as hills. I'm guessing the pc's i've been looking at are far more superior and for my use i'd prob be blown away.. I doubt i'd even need core i5 & 16GB RAM but thinking of future. Same with FTTP i'd prob only need minimal but in future may want more

Was thinking best to get best processor can afford and upgrade ram if needed as can't upgrade processor.

The amount of space on this old PC I don't use is incredible.

Also I see you @XRaySpeX have 150mbps i'm thinking adequate seeing as I don't do gaming but thinking of future.

New PCs are backwards compatible to old router I think I'm right in saying.

Thanks

Any PC will run off a Brightbox but will be limited to 100 Meg on the Ethernet.

@XRaySpeX ok thanks..i'm unsure what to do. This one in sale has no USB A ports   https://www.currys.co.uk/products/lenovo-ideacentre-aio-23.8-allinone-pc-intel-core-i5-512-gb-ssd-gr...

This one has 4 https://www.argos.co.uk/product/7755334?clickSR=slp:term:asus%20v440vak%2024in%20i5%208gb%20512gb%20...

Also i'm unsure whether i need i5 or i3 & whether i'd need to expand to 16gb  for what i need it for or whether i should wait until this caputs.

Help appreciated as it's doing my head in.

USB 3.2 x 1 + USB 2.0 x 2 are 3 x USB A at diff speeds.

Only you can decide the spec you go for. I would buy the biggest/fastest you can afford. it's always worth having future-proofing when you are likely to keep it for years.
