Hi all,
Here is an interesting problem,
I have a Dell Desk Top, a very old Samsung Laptop, a fairly old HP laptop, two Panasonic TVs and 4 BT Digital phones,
all these were working with no problems on the internet.
Yesterday I was working on the Desk Top no problems.
I switched it off and I went out for about and hour.
Returned to some more work on the Desk Top only to discover I had no connection to the HUB. I also saw that the none of the four Digital phones were linked to the HUB.
This is were it gets interesting:-
Both Laptops were connected to the internet.
One of the TVs was connected wireless to the internet.
The other TV was connect by mains adapters (so a wired connection) but was not connected to the HUB. I changed it to wireless and it connected.
Still the Desk Top and 4 Digital phones were not connected to the HUB.
I installed Nord VPN about a week and a half ago, could this have caused a problem with the Desk Top and phones.
I spoke to EE help line and explained the problem and they sent me a new HUB which I have installed but I still have the same problem.
The Nord VPN is installed on the Desk Top so I cannot get into it to remove it and see if that will cure the problem.
HELP please.
Regards,
Paddy

Hi XRaySpeX,
Thank you for your reply.
Sorry for late response but the email notifying me of it went into my junk box and I have only just seen it.
Being a complete computer idiot I did not know how to open the Nord VPN app.
having finally got advice from a friend I managed to reset Nord VPN and I now have the Desk Top working.
The digital phones are linked wireless to the hub, as it is 04.30am I have not checked if the phones are working as my better half does like her beauty sleep and I like the use of my right arm.
Kind regards,
Paddy

How are the 4 phones connected to the hub?
Why can't you get into the desktop to remove VPN? It's just local; doesn't require network access.

Hi @Padcamp
Thanks for coming back to us.
Hopefully no beauty sleep was disturbed last night and the arms are intact!
If you can test the phones are working at a reasonable time and let us know if you need any further help?
Thanks 🙂
Leanne.

Hi Leanne,
Yes I am pleased to say the BT Digital phones have linked to the EE Smart Hub and all have down loaded a software update.
I have just spent the last 45 minutes entering all my contacts into the new Hub.
My next task is to work out how I can create a .vcf file and get them into that so that I can import them into the HUB if they get eraised again.
As I am sure you are aware there is no export option in the EE Smart Hub to save them to my PC.
Beauty sleep was fully achieved so my right arm is still in one piece 😀
