Potential Door-to-Door Scam?

Teacupped96
Explorer

Exhausted all other options in trying to get in touch with EE to confirm whether there are people out and about working for EE in the NP22 area in South Wales asking to come inside our homes to check broadband speeds.

Is this happening, or is it a scam? A lot of people in my area have contacted 101 and they told us it's legit but we all want some peace of mind here.

Was anything like this scheduled? I know people who work for EE who've said this doesn't happen, so we're concerned. Please let us know if anyone has any info!

@Teacupped96 : There are doorsteppers trying to sell Full Fibre to residents. When you answer the door to a member of EE's local team, they'll introduce themselves and show you their ID badge. If you're interested in EE or BT products, they'll take you through the products and services that are best suited to you and answer any questions. If you're interested in buying, they'll ask you to fill in a short, secure online order on their tablet

If you don't trust them you can always order it from Broadband Deals

She wasn't wearing a uniform. Apparently she had a badge but I didn't see it. No luck getting through to Money Saving Expert and the first number just sent me to that one. I just want straight answers and to talk to someone who actually knows whether there was someone scheduled to be here. It's been two hours now with no straight-forward answers.

That's not Martin Lewis's "Money Saving Expert " but just an EE's Money Expert Validation line.
