Port forwarding issues

Hi. I have both an Emby server and a Plex server set up on a quality and drive. Both upnp for auto setting up port forwarding. The Emby one got in first and works fine, though strangely I cannot delete it. 1st question - how to delete a seemingly fixed port fording rule (the delete x button is grayed out) without fully resetting the router.  The Plex server using upnp, auto sets up an external ip ending in 13255 when it needs to be 32400. When I manually set 32400 on the router it states not active and a red x button.

Looking at other posts, I believe you cannot have 2 severs with port forwarding on my router smart hub 7 pro. 2nd question - is this correct? Unbelievable if it is.

3rd question - has anyone managed to set up 2 port forwarding rules with manually specified ip addresses. If so, please let me know how you did it.

Nb auto spell correct. The Emby and Plex servers are set up on a qnap nas drive.

You can't delete uPnP set up rules. You could disable uPnP on the router & then set up your 2 rules manually.

You can have any no. of servers with rules. It just that you must not have 2 rules covering the same ports.

You should make sure the NAS device has a static IP by "Always use this IP addy".

Thanks. The nas drive has a static id. The Emby server uses this id with the final part of the address as :8960 the Plex server uses the static id with the final part of the address:32400. From your reply, is this not permitted? If so, I will prioritise the Plex one. Is the only way to get rid of the Emby server to factory reset the router?

nb. I have tried disabling upnp but the new Plex rule (32400) shows as an error (red x) and therefore the rule isn’t set correctly.

@PhilMarshall1 The same server IP is fine as long as the ports are different, you cannot duplicate a single port ie 8888 with a UDP only then repeat it all with a TCP, that is not liked, but xyz to 8888:TCP/UDP is fine.....

Thanks. The ports are different. One 8960 and one 32400. This therefore makes no sense to me.  I think I will try factory resetting the router to clear the rules. Will that cause any issues with me doing that with my broadband?

@PhilMarshall1 If you have a landline connected to that Pro hub, all your DV contacts will be gone, that should be the only issue, with the possible Extenders if using you might have to re-pair those again.

Your rules appear to be uPnP related with the Nas/EE Router getting what is sent if you want to do them yourself uPnP will have to be switched off in the EE Pro web Manager interface, so disconnect your server Ethernet temp if you wish to go in and set the uPnP off so you get the chance to do so after the Factory Reset. Not having posted what you have then no visual to what you have setting wise.... https://192.168.1.254 to get to the hub if you are using....

The default port for Emby Server is 8096 for non-SSL connections and 8920 for SSL connections.

Default Ports

• Port 8096: This is the default port used for HTTP (non-SSL) connections to the Emby Server. You can access your Emby Server by entering http://<your-server-ip>:8096 in your web browser.
• Port 8920: This port is used for HTTPS (SSL) connections, providing a secure way to access your Emby Server. You can access it via https://<your-server-ip>:8920.

Plex?

The most important port to make sure your firewall allows is the main TCP port the Plex Media Server uses for communication:

• TCP: 32400 (access to the Plex Media Server) [required]

The following additional ports are also used within the local network for different services:

• UDP: 1900 (access to the Plex DLNA Server)
• UDP: 5353 (older Bonjour/Avahi network discovery)
• TCP: 8324 (controlling Plex for Roku via Plex Companion)
• UDP: 32410, 32412, 32413, 32414 (current GDM network discovery)
• TCP: 32469 (access to the Plex DLNA Server)
