I have moved and upgraded from BT to EE full fibre (1gb).
On the old BT router I always have 5 bars no matter where I'm in the house, from the ground floor to the loft room, it never missed a beat.
I now have an EE router and on the first floor the bar fluctuate between 3 and 4. In the loft it fluctuate between 1 and 2. It's a typical 1930 house with normal brick walls. If the old BT router always give me 5 bars then why is the new and improved EE router coverage is so poor compared to the BT one?
As for the speed, I'm right beside the router and I get 550, not the 700 minimum EE promised. In the loft it's approximately 110. Too be honest I'm not too bothered about the speed, even though I'm not getting what I was promised and paying for.
BT has a WiFi disc extender, does EE has the equivalent that I can buy that works with their current router?
Anyone else have issues with coverage
Thanks

I know .. ! ...I can even get my neighbours Vodaphone router through concrete ! ! But my Smart Hub just doesn't have the power..So tempted to cancel as the promised service has not been delivered and go to Vodaphone..
Thought I'd try an extender as suggested but not sure what to buy 😕

@Ellethebelle : It might be better to buy a generic router than get extenders.

@Ellethebelle Take a look at the link and say what router you have from EE! If you also have not sent your BT back and it worked as before, only a landline to consider you could put it back, it will work on an EE service...

@Ellethebelle Take a look this should work fine, get EE to give you a £30 refund.

@Ellethebelle If you put a wi-fi analyser app on your mobile like netspot then can tell you yes or no based on the figures that you would see. Crystal ball does not allow me to look at what your home is like or construction materials, where the router was placed. You could just move that to the middle and see if it covers all your home,....
Two routers same results then you probably have it sitting in the corner off a room, on the floor behind some stand and just not getting the wireless signal out there.

Thanks .. I'll try that
The smart hub is sitting on top of the fridge about 2meters from where the old BtHub 2 sat at the bottom of a book case .
Is there market for BT hub 2s?
That might do it !
Or buy a £25 pounds extender on Amazon, ..but which one ?

@Ellethebelle Where is your old BT Smarthub2, did you already send it back?
