I was a Plusnet customer but from today I transferred to EE. When I got got the message that the switch had taken place I plugged everything in on the router, switched on, connected devices to the router and all worked fine…… until the router reset of its own accord. As of now, the EE router isn’t showing in any device but we’re connected to the old Plusnet router via the old Plusnet password…. despite the fact that the old router has been completely disconnected!! So presumably, the EE router is somehow broadcasting the old Plusnet broadband!
I realise that Plusnet is part of EE but this is ridiculous. All devices have had network settings reset and still none of them can see the EE router. What on earth is going on??
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

This would be the function for transferring your devices that you would have tapped when setting up the EE Hub!
It changes the Wireless Network name and password to your previous details so that all your devices are transferred across. Otherwise you would have to pair everything to the new network one by one.
The wireless network name is nothing to do with who is providing your services, theoretically this can be changed to anything you like. The underlying service is from EE regardless of what name is being broadcast.
I would advise keeping a note/picture of your old Plusnet details so you have them stored somewhere, but these can also be retrieved from a mobile connected to the network via your WiFi settings.
It is essentially an automated version of the advice here if you chose to do so, doing it all for you instead of having to mess around in the settings: https://ee.co.uk/help/broadband/fix-problem/help-connecting-devices-to-my-hub
