Morning All, I am new to this so hopefully get it right. I changed to EE broadband from sky on the understanding it would be as good or better. I had Smart Hub Plus turn up but that's all. I've had problems with wifi in the past because of the position of the router. When with sky they sent engineer with a wifi extender box which he set up in my hall and everything was good. As i did not get this with EE i decided to invest in some EE wifi discs which did not work as i then realised these did not work with smart hub. Sold them on and made a loss but nevermind. Then found out i needed a smart wifi box which i then bought. I have tried everything possible to pair these but with no success. Is it me or am i missing something? Any help would go a long way. Many thanks.

@Lollypop5 As you are discovering, the extenders need to be matched to the router and are not always going to work with each other.
Which model of router and extender do you now have? The info should be on a plate on the bottom/rear of the device.

@Lollypop5 Ah, that extender is for an older router.
The one you need is the SW30A.
Have you spoken to customer services about these, or are you getting them from somewhere else?
Edit - this article shows more info on the routers and smart WiFi devices, they are not interchangeable and can only be matched to the router they are designed for. EE will supply them as part of the Smart WiFi service, up to three adapters for £7/m.

Hi, Wow more money i've wasted then. No i didn't get it from EE for exactly that reason ( £7 a month ). I so regret leaving Sky now as they supplied and fitted it for the same money. Thanks you for your help i will be in contact with EE.

@Lollypop5 my son and daughter both use Sky Broadband, and yes their WiFi terms are very good, things change so quickly these days always a challange knowing which service to use and always good to speak to CS before changing.

@Lollypop5 That is why either Sky Max, or Broadband Boost the old one was £4 extra per month to cover the wi-fi Guarantee that sky had, just the equivalent to the EE Smart wireless addon although £7 or £10 depending on which version! Links will give you the idea for the non mix-match.
