One Touch from Virgin to EE

Hi there,

I accepted a Virgin renewal on 01/04/26 - a day or 2 after I found a good deal on EE broadband and used the One Touch Switch - I had Phone/TV/BB with Virgin.

I've got an email from Virgin about moving my BB/Phone to EE but nothing about TV.

Do I need to cancel my package / TV with Virgin not to incur any costs as my 2 week period is up on Monday

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Just to add - Openreach came out this morning and installed everything - so fully up and running on EE BB now! Just don't want to be locked into a VM contract for 2 years and pay both.

@PaddyCvr Yes you have to call VM and cancel the TV Package, OTS is for the Broadband Only and NOTHING to do with TV at all. You also have to keep an eye now on the VM Broadband refunds etc, they are notorious for continuing to take the Broadband Payments monthly and hoping that customers are not keeping an eye on it all. You are going to have the overlap on TV payments etc as notice to shutdown the VM TV side think it's standard 30 day's, so both EE and VM will have active TV to you.

@PaddyCvr : Yes, you need to cancel your TV package directly with VM as TV is not included in OFCOM's OTS process being not telecoms

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

@PaddyCvr Don't care what any live chat or anything else is, if you don't cancel it by yourself with VM then you will run out off time and be stuck for the 24months. Trust me VM will NOT let it slide.

Take it that you are also aware, if you do not have VM broadband that the TV only works with there connection and NO other ISP.

How long does EE take to inform Virgin of the install roughly?

@PaddyCvr As soon as your BB went live with EE, notification is sent to VM that EE has your BB connection now, VM in the past just totally ignore and leave you to fight the corner, EE e-mail to you now connected, e-mail from VM you no longer have BB with them.

So you are aware, pictures that you are posting, then they are NOT available for general viewing until checked and approved, that takes time to happen!

Your text is all through now, at least VM do acknowledge there TV only works with there service, my last move, was sky took at 2.30am and EE did the e-mail 1 hour later so around the 3-30-4am that it was all done. Would still cancel the TV with VM as OTS does not take any care off it that is why VM never did anything to you, hoping you go past the 14 day's then get stuck for the 24 months with that! Have a look on the VM Forum if you are not sure. Also check you VM Landline phone has disconnected from the VM Phone socket, your EE one may not be fully active yet sometimes takes a day or two to fully transition over calls wise.

At least I have it in writing that I won't incur any charges.
