in this case they would still get the red cable tho ? as the ont is jjust a modem where as before you would have a modem router @JimM11

@shakey19811 Not always. There is NO guarantee that a 2.5Gb/s ONT will be installed, OR makes the decision for what is used but they are area dependant, one day it will be the norm at a far later date, they may even do a 10Gb/s further down the line.

@shakey19811 A PN user moving to EE is going to get more than likely one off the EE 6+ versions off the hub, also depending if still FTTC then the SH31B or if FTTP good chance the SH32B variant.

@shakey19811 : Are they? You sure about that? Are you referring in that statement specifically to PN transferees or generally for all EE FF? If that were the case then currently you can't upgrade from <= 1 Gig FF to 1.6 Gig FF, or at least not w/out great difficultly.
Anyway you said the Yellow ONT port in your post that I responded to. That won't do if as you say they are putting in the 1.6 Gig ONT.
Much of your advice is useful for PN transferees but is a bit hairy at the edges.

@shakey19811 Here is the EE Link to all about the hubs, and what they do coverage wise etc, may be handy for the future with some highlights for looking at, hub dependant.
