No landline broadband London

I've had no home landline broadband in TW5 9BQ since yesterday evening. All router green lights are solid except 3rd green one down is blinking. Mobile signal ok for all sites.

I've not changed anything.

Mobile WiFi symbol has a small cross it plus 'No Internet' underneath.

An independent coverage map showed a big red blob over London. Is this a current known outage ?

I phoned the EE helpline & they helped me solve the problem which was with the router (Fibre Bright Box 2).

They said my landline was OK, they downloaded router settings & asked me to press & hold the reset button on the back of the router for 30 secs. No difference but when I removed the mains plug for 20 secs, & plugged it back in I got my landline broadband again.

Apart from the downloaded router settings it may have been the reset then mains socket off/on again ...

Have you called the Broadband Care team and reported a fault?

@Arran099 : Welcome to EE's Home Broadband Forum.

BB faults are rarely area-wide but specific to your particular line.

Have you just joined EE BB or were you already with EE BB?

What does it say after you log into the router:

  • For a BrightBox: in the Internet section on the initial Status page or
  • For a Smart Hub: on the Advanced Settings > Broadband > Internet page?

Obscure your names & any digits in the BB Username but post the 1st 2 parts of the IP addy. This will tell us at which stage EE have got to.

Is this for ADSL BB or Fibre? Which router, BrightBox 1 or 2 or Smart Hub?

Does the landline phone work? Do you get a dial tone? Does it announce your correct no. when you dial 1470 17070?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Sequel:

I turned off my router overnight then on again today. Original fault back. No home broadband. Telephoned EE helpline who are sending me a new router.

However they asked me to do another router reset, turned off/on, & then I was asked to access my Android 'Settings' - 'Network & Internet' - then click on my WiFi router name.

Originally it was 'EE-routername/No Internet' but after clicking on it, it became 'EE-routername' & suddenly my home broadband worked again.

It seems that after a router reset it may be necessary to click on your WiFi router name to link it again.
