Hi guys,

All up and running, however i am using my Netgear RS300 router and i have found the log in details to connect to the internet.

Trouble i am having is the lack of IPV6 for some reason.

IPV6 is set up to on the Netgear to connect via PPPoe and to use the same login details as IPV4 which is what worked on the previous provider but i am not getting an IP from EE.

Anything else i should be doing?

Cheers!

@jasons693071 Hang fire will take a look once you pictures uploaded get cleared for viewing. There are NO two Routers alike and as @bobpullen posted up the link to the other posted user would be a directed ask off them. No doubt bob will do the same!👍

Can tell you for sure Asus works 100% no issues with /56.....

ping -4 bbc.co.uk and later ping -6 bbc.co.uk or run the whatis from earlier in the post for checks etc, ip6 test should return 10/10 and allow further checks also....

Thanks Jim

@jasons693071 If you have edit ability would remove all your IP address info you posted up, it is a Public forum so you DO NOT wish to display it all for everyone to see!

But looking good so far!👍 Your going to be the Netgear expert for the advice!

You will see when cleared for viewing!

Like this is a good way to display, let's everyone see what is working but not giving the house key's away!Like this is a good way to display, let's everyone see what is working but not giving the house key's away!

Hi all.

Relative newbie here but in a similar situation.

The short story is I've recently migrated over from BT FF150 to EE FF500. The downside of that migration is that you're not considered a new customer so I was not offered a free upgrade from the WiFi 5 Smart Hub.

Rather than effectively renting a Smart Hub 7 Plus/Pro, or buying a 'potentially grey' one from any auction sites or retailers, I decided to buy my own router and settled on the Netgear Nighthawk RS300 which I found for a very reasonable price over the festive period.

I did swap out routers for a day or so to have a play, update firmware etc, but reverted back to to the Smart Hub due to personal choice and circumstances. All was fine with the RS300 connection and configuration apart from the IPv6 side.

Although I'm not an IT expert by any stretch of the imagination, my engineering background means the technical side doesn't faze me and I like to gain knowledge.

I've already looked at the usual Netgear sites etc for guidance, but they tend to be generic information rather than specific to EE/BT. Any help on settings would be appreciated before I decide to swap out routers on a more permanent basis.

Thanks to the several contributors so far.

@Badger1M Link from below! Maybe @jasons693071 will reach out to you, think he now has a working Netgear RS like yours connected and getting a iPv6 address!

How do I set up a PPPoE IPv6 Internet connection on my Nighthawk router? - NETGEAR Support

In the end, i set it to...

same PPPoE login as IPV4,

manually set your own IPV6 DNS servers (I used cloudfare)  as for some reason BT resolve IPv6 queries through IPV4, which seems pointless you can't actually change that setting on the Superhub.

LAN set up as Autoconfig.

And then, as suggested test it using

Not sure if this helps, but some of us on the Busiest Home Bundle who went through the routergate problems did experiment on going down the own router bundle.

This is what I had to do for the TP Link router i was testing at the time to get it to work. Hopefully might help someone else out there.

Note this picture is over a year old so has no bearing on my current connection or IP.
