New Smart Hub issue

Hi

I am a new broadband customer and my activation date is today. I understand it can take until midnight, however received an email at 6am advising my order was complete and a text at 8am advising my broadband is ready. It’s now 9pm, and the smart hub is just flashing orange.

I have reset multiple times and ensured the wires are connected properly and to the correct place.

I have FTTP and there is a white box on the wall, I believe it’s a huawei port 1 modem - there is several lights on the front including a power button, but they are all turned off.

I can see underneath there is a entry point for a plug, and it says ‘power’ - does this mean that this white box needs plugging into a wall socket, and that the previous homeowners have taken this?

or is it simply a case that my services are not active yet?

thanks in advance

Yes, an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) does need power. You need the power lead for it to plug in. You might need to call CS to get 1 if you don't have a suitable 1.
