Ok. I ordered the new EE full fibre “busiest home” package, it’s showing (and advertised) as speeds up to 1.6gb, and the EE app even shows “1.3gb (guaranteed) download speeds, well…….no!
mine just got installed and I’m getting the exact same speed I was getting using my 4G SIM card router (up to 70mbps) the highest it’s been is up to 177mbps then it drops again. I have been reading on some of these forums and apparently the router EE provide isn’t capable of speeds up to 1.3 or 1.6gb, so why even provide customers with it?! I’m massively disappointed with this, they expect customers to pay 69 quid a month for a speed my 4G router delivers??
I’ve done all usual checks, changing wifi channels etc nothing improves it so on that basis It’s either the router itself limiting the speed or the outside line (which apparently they check before install) although it’s a new fibre line that was put in.
For example, my Xbox is the only thing connected right now, im downloading a game update of 5GB which is showing as completing in 40 minutes, it’s only coming in around 155mbps (highest) and drops to roughly 40ish mbps. It should be much faster than this surely??
I don’t want to seem ungrateful but am I expecting to much? Or am I within my right to question this?

A 4g router hitting 1.3gbps although possible very very very unlikely 😂 literally the fastest company broadband routers go are 300mpbs only on a very rare occasions have mobiles gone over this.. you won't ever every get 1.6gbs most WiFi cards in devices don't reach such speeds in latest mobiles have a top range of like 1gbps so if your testing on mobile you won't see 1.6gbps
