My contract was for a Broadband Speed of 150 Mbps with a guarantee of 100 Mbps. When I was changed to full fibre, I monitored my speeds using various Speed Tests to find that I was getting nowhere near the guaranteed speed. Having complained, I was told that EEs remote tests showed excellent speeds to my router but when I said my speeds did not go anywhere near what they were saying. After 2  Router changes, plus a couple of engineers over the 12 months in question, I asked for specific, detailed checks. This resulted in an Open Reach engineer calling, who was experienced, with, I might add, the tools to check out the service correctly. Within 20 minutes, he found the problem, which was a kink in the optic fibre in the loft where the incoming cable had been run close to the splicing box. This was most certainly caused by the original installation as at 81 my time for crawling around the loft were over a long time ago  He cut back, respliced, and hooray speeds of 148 Mps. This has to beg the question why did EE say the speeds to my Router were correct and my recommnedation to everyone is to check you speeds regulary as one has no confidence in what EE say.

@Bloodpressured Wonder if the OR Engineer stated that in his report back to EE, now there is a question? Does not take much to mess with the light pass on the old Fibre connection!
