New Extra Hub

Hi, how can I get an extra broadband hub please? Recently transferred from BT to EE and when I was with BT, I had the main hub downstairs and a smaller hub upstairs for our computer.  I would appreciate your help.

Do you mean a WiFi extender?

What is the name of the EE BB plan are you on including its speed? Which EE router do you have (read label or post a pix)?

We had a smaller round hub along with the main square hub when we were with BT.  I just need the same from EE.  How do I find out what plan I am on please?  I have been on the EE app and I can find my mobile phone plan but not the broadband one.

Please see enclosed photos - the last photo is what I am looking for.  Main hub is located downstairs by front door but I need a "booster" or extra hub for upstairs so that I can attach the ethernet cable from the computer to it.  I have tried moving the main hub downstairs but there is not enough room at the back of the computer tower/box to put both the yellow ethernet cable and the red WLAN cable in.

I meant moving the main hub upstairs - sorry!

Hey @kachgogs.

Welcome to the EE Community!

If you give our Broadband Team a call, they'll be able to look into the option of adding an extra Smart WiFi extender to your account.

Another alternative here could be a Powerline adapter - this plugs into the mains next to the Hub, and has an Ethernet port in it.

You then plug in a second unit by your PC which also has an Ethernet port, and the connection travels from your hub via your home's internal circuitry to provide a single wired connection to the device.

This is what I use with my PC at home and it's always worked really well for gaming and streaming etc.

  1. The black thing on the windowsill in the 1st pix is an EE router, one of the many EE Smart Hub models. It can't be be moved upstairs easily as it needs to be connected by cable to the ONT modem, the white box with green lights on the wall. I can't tell what model unless you tell us the model no. & name written on the label on its base.
  2. The black disc in the last pix is not a hub but a BT Complete WiFi disc. It does not work with any of the EE Smart Hubs except the Smart Hub (2023), model SH20A. If the router in the 1st pix is 1 of the other EE Smart Hub Plus's, EE can supply up to 3 EE Smart Wifi and Smart Wifi Plus extenders at a cost of £7 pm.

Hi, thanks for the message.  The only issue I would have with that is no extra room to plug the powerline adapter in next to the Hub by front door (as per previous provided photo). It sounds like a great idea though.
