New EE's Full Fibre BB (FTTP) only running at max 950mb ? Should be 1.6 Gbps !

I had my new install today and its only running at max 950mb down and 115 up and it should be 1.6gbps

I have the new EE SMART Hub ! Can someone advise ?   I have Cat 8 Cable connected to the Yellow Ethernet ports.

Does it matter what port you put it in as its not got any label or marks to say otherwise. please advise as I am paying £25 more to get these faster speeds that I don't currently get.

You need to set up a connection profile with pppoe that used the network card - it won’t just work with auto detect set on.

Just did Wi-Fi test on my phone and it goes over 1400 mbps and 110 up so that confirms the speeds are working as it should and I need to update to a better router for 2.5g Lan ports/

What speed test service are you using? Fast tends to vary to much and Speedtest and NPerf suffer from too many users so under report. I set up a local speed test server on my server because they’re all wildly unreliable.

What speed is the port, if only 1 gigabit it won't handle the 1.6 gig speeds.

If you have a new install at 1.6 gig I would have expected EE to provide a modem / router with 2.5 gig ports.

Guess you'll have to contact EE directly when they open Wednesday.

Bit confused Xray, if input is 1 gig, how can he get 1.6 gig over wifi?  OK device to device over AX wifi or better I guess.

@Bert007  : Who said input is only 1 Gig? The OP is on a 1.6 Gig plan, has a 2.5 Gig ONT & is getting 1.4 Gig over speedtests.

@XRaySpeX I think the point was teh op only has a 1Gb WAN port connected to the ONT so how was 1.4 possible?

The port you plug the ONT into is multi-gig the rest are 1Gb 😂

No, @cliffy37 , the OP has the Red WAN port connected to the ONT. That port is rated at 2.5 Gig.

In my original reply to the OP I was answering the OP's original query about the Yellow LAN  ports. If I thought this far ahead that my reply wouldn't be read in context, perhaps I should've put 'LAN' in my reply.
