New EE router has disappeared and renamed itself as old BT router

I received my new EE router yesterday, plugged in and connected all devices. All was well but then my devices disconnected themselves and my EE router disappeared from available WIFI options. My old BT hub WAS visible, despite being boxed up ready to return.

I used my old password and connected devices using my old details.

Is this an issue? I am connected though  am using old details? Will it just sort itself out? Should I reboot and start the process all over again or just leave it be?

Cheers

While setting up the router there would have been a step in regards to transferring the devices. Renaming the SSID and the password is how the EE Hub goes about doing this, as all the devices should just be able to connect back up automatically and save you from going to each of them with the new details.

This is absolutely fine and not a problem, the Wireless details you use are only a local access thing and people often rename them to weird and wacky things just because they can, it does not impact on who your Broadband provider is.

I would take a picture or keep a note of the old BT Hub details somewhere just in case you lose track of them.

@Doffle No it will NOT correct itself, this is part of setting up and joining the network, using ALL the old names/password for the OLD BT router, YOU need to note the ssid/password and KEEP it safe to use for the future especially if requested to return the old equipment, and DO hang on to it all, there is 60 day's before it needs to get back to EE/BT.

Down side, factory reset the EE router, and it's all back to square one, restarting and adding ALL the devices back to the details on the router card unless you know how to go about changing. It's a pain....

So I return the old hardware but keep the details. If I reset and go though the process again will it drift over to the old BT details again or stay as it's own name?  Thank you for your swift reply.
