New EE kit replacing previous BT kit

Hi, we had an engineer call to switch over our old (well not so old, just 12 months) BT router, mini box etc; to new EE kit. Since then our internet keeps dropping out or causing the TV to go into buffering. We also have less connectivity around the house, previously we had a BT booster disc but that had to be sent back. Looking at the posts i am not alone. The engineer was here for about an hour and a half and had various problems connecting landlines as well as the router to the central system. Is it a home fix (i am not at all techy) or do we need another visit ?

@Hutch01 Did you also have anything else done like new FTTP upgrade from a FTTC system or was it just a like for like, connect up the new router and go from there set up the DV for your landlines, the extender you had previous, was that from BT but was missed out in the EE package change over. Engineer's are time constrained in the installation they try to do what they can and some consider it as not here to setup and make your system work the way it was before, and the fact you had one can be of a few variables, little more info from you would be helpful, like ie the new router is not in the same place were we had the BT one before etc...

Which EE BB plan are you on including its speed? What EE router do you have?

It was a BT router to EE router switchover, the main BT tv box was left in situ, the extra mini box was swapped over from BT to an EE one. Booster disc was a BT one, taken away and not replaced. The engineer had to contact his own call centre to check status of software updates and connections to router and there were a few stop-starts. I'm kind of resigned to having to re-boot three or four times a week when it goes completely and we just put up with the buffering that happens most nights on iPlayer or other apps. Seems a shame when you're paying nearly £100 a month, one would have hoped that the tech worked better or at least as good as it was before the switch to EE. If t doesn't improve soon i wonder if we can cancel the contract ?

I believe we're on the fastest package, don't really know why we were steered towards that as we don't need that kind of power. Two retirees, no streaming, gaming etc; As for type of EE router, erm, don't know other than it's black and looks very similar to the previous BT router.

Sounds like you were oversold & overpaying. A 1.6 Meg plan for £65 / month instead of a 150 Meg plan for £30 / month.
