Hi
When connected to the internet through EE router I get the error message when going onto Netflix "you seem to be using a VPN or proxy". This happens on iphone, ipads, apple TV, Windows PC.
If I connect on mobile data it works fine. If i connect though a UK VPN it works fine
I turned off the router for 30 mins and also factory reset the router to get a new IP address and it still happens.
Any ideas?
Before you say reset you Iphone or reinstall the app it happens on every device 🙂
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

@eddieHandset which broadband service do you have and router?
How long has this been going on, and has it ever worked?
Do you have parental controls switched on?

EE broadband and router. No parental Controls. It's worked fine up to weds.

@eddieHandset this is a public forum, not customer services, no one has account access or knows who you are or what services you have, or how long you have been a customer.
For anyone to help you, we need some basic information. EE has quire a few broadband services and routers.
You say you turned the router off to get a new IP, but do not say if you actually did or what the IP ranges are.
Have you spoken to customer services? https://ee.co.uk/help/contact-ee/account-billing/broadband-landline

Which EE BB plan are you on including its speed? What EE router do you have (read its label or post a pix)?

The IP address before I factory reset the router was 81.132.29.225 after is 217.46.97.237.

Update. Fixed (kind of)
This VPN blockage is only a problem on my profile (primary user). If I choose another profile it works fine. It's strange that using mobile data it's OK on my profile or use EE's broadband and and VPN it's OK.
I've had Netflix since it first came out but have only recently started to use the 'free' one on my EE mobile contract.

EE plan 50 meg, smart hub 2

You mean the BT Smart Hub 2? EE doesn't have 1.

What has the actual use of our BB got to with any profile? What profile are you referring to? Do you mean your EE a/c? Your EE a/c does not affect your BB; only managing the router.
