Hello, I will be getting EE BB 900mbps in Feb and will be using my own router, the Nest WiFi. I just wanted to confirm that I have to plug the Nest WiFi into the BT ONT, select PPPoE in the Google Home app and input the username and password from the EE router I receive. Is this correct?
About the installation, would the engineer be setting up the ONT then EE router first before I can connect my Nest WiFi or would he just install the ONT then connect the Nest WiFi. Also is the fibre cable short?
Is anyone else using their own router, what was your experience, any problems and are you getting full speeds?
Thanks

I read what you said and I called EE, they tried to run a test but don't have the documentation that it's completed. They couldn't do a live test so technically the BB is probably not active. The engineer said they did a test and it's working and I tried from my laptop to the ONT and got 400mbps. So don't know what's going on, I'll wait until later or tomorrow to try again. No I haven't received text saying it's activated.
The ONT lights, Power - Green, PON - Green & LAN - Green.
I haven't tired the EE router.

@Shadow_Tail Were it me, I would stick the EE Router on, and then when it is working switch to the Nest. It sometimes takes a while before a new service gets fully completed. They used to say any time up to midnight.

I took your advice and it works. The Router and the BB and I get full speeds. So I wonder why Nest WiFi isn't working. What do you mean switch to Nest? It doesn't seem the PPPoE is working.

@Shadow_Tail So if it is working with the EE router then if the Nest is still not working when you swap the EE and Nest router, there must be a problem with the Nest setup.
Have you used it for anything else?
It would be worth doing a factory reset on the Nest, and setting up the WAN setting again.

Yeah unfortunately I may have to do Factory Reset. No, nothing else just the laptop test. The image below are the settings I used.

@Shadow_Tail it looks like you are getting an ip address, so what is not working?

Everything is working now. Seems Nest WiFi didn't like connecting to PPPoE when already set-up. A factory reset later, I was able to select PPPoE during setup and entered the same credentials. I also started the factory reset when I received the text from EE saying my BB is ready.
Thanks for your help.
