Hoping one or many of you can help and support. I have recently joined EE Broadband and for the life of me I can't understand why I am not able to have my 2.4ghz and 5ghz with different names.
I have checked EE website and see the following
Smart hub Pro - Multiple SSID - Yes
Smart Hub Plus - Multiple SSID - Yes with select models/software
I have been sent a Smart Hub Plus which stats its a SH32B on the box - but it is a SH31B, which I can see under the Hub Manager Home>Advanced Settings>Technical Log - Product Code SH31B & Firmware r1.34.1-R-1055417-PROD-83002
I have spoken to EE Tech Support who talked me through their online guidance and said I should be able to do this on the hub but the option is not available.
After many agents and being passed around - they have not deemed that this is only available on the Smart Hub Pro and will cost me £240 over the 2 year contract. Clearly I have refused this offer as this should not be a paid service from a router.
So my question is - does anyone here have a working Multiple SSID on a Smart Hub Plus, if so can you please tell me which version you have and what firmware you are using so I can feed this back to the EE Tech team and the complaint I am raising to the EE Executive Team
Clearly one of the following products allows it: Models: SH31B/SH32B/SH30A
You are able to see this from the following EE webpage: Compare our range of broadband hubs | Broadband | EE

@Dr-999 DO NOT set your hopes high this is the MOST locked down ISP router that you will ever find on the market, the most restricted, and you have not even got to using a mobile app yet, so you are in for one major shock!!!!

@Dr-999 Most people turn the 5Ghz band off and turn the security down to get troublesome devices connected.
Think you are the first to plan to use these new features from the off.

@Mustrum Had one, advised to use on SKY Q network box setup and it appeared to work out not bad. It's going to be what the **** is going on with this, but seems like emulate the wi-fi 7 version look and feel, just hope the router has got the horsepower to keep it all going.

hi @JimM11
I have already tried to use the App for broadband control, what a joke that is - gave up and just use the Hub Manager but that is just a mess also

@JimM11 - Just wanted to say a massive thank you for all the help and support you have given. Must have been my lucky day as I woke up this morning and checked and I am now on
r2.68.18-R-1303195-PROD-83002 - GUI App version 2.36.4.
Everything is not fully connected and I have switched off 2.4ghz on the main Wi-Fi channel

@Dr-999 The FW is all just so new and hoping that a few off the Router oops are getting sorted along the way, but what you are trying to do should be ok, had an OP setup a sky Q system in comp mode last week sometime, worked out fine he said when posting back, only unknown with regards does main/comp filter through the Smart Wireless extenders. DO NOT use as i am an Asus router for most everything, but my EE Smarthub+ is up as primary router currently. Anything you find out off place just post back.
You may wish to think about the Main 2.4Ghz frequency, it is kind of used in wi-fi 6 mode, but is debatable if really does, more of a wi-fi 7 feature, and reason why manufacture's went and stopped the ability to split the ssid's on wi-fi 6.
All of my wireless devices play nice with each other so i have NO worries, and have ssid's on for all router's / mesh and powerline.

@JimM11
Well all seemed to be going well, until my work Laptop can no longer connect to the router - Work IT department wont offer any help because it was working fine yesterday
So a call to the Tech Team again

@Dr-999 If we can help just give us a shout, post what's going on, what you have tried, make model of the laptop, and if Ethernet port on it, have you tried that,

@JimM11
All sorted - had to change the Wi-Fi Password and let the device connect - then change it back and let it connect
They have no idea what caused it, but they had come across it before and well it worked.
Seriously driving me mad this, why does it not just bloody work 😂
For anyone that is curious of the make and model - its an "HP Z Book Firefly 16 G10 Workstation"
Fingers crossed - everything seems to be operational - well until the next update or reboot or whatever comes along

@Dr-999 Don't be surprised, they have been coming out rapid and overly quick recently, but not many posting any bad news upgrade wise, with you being so new you've missed a lot of the fun over the last year, and you do seem to be well in control and able to work it out. 👍
Not a bad router as ISP's go but does have a few oddball quirks and really well locked down, keeping sticky fingers away....
