Did you mean:

Set up card payment, cancel direct debit.

I'm still in contact for my broadband, I want to cancel my direct debit and pay by credit card. Is this possible? I don't mind making manual payments once bill is issued, even better if the card can be charged automatically. How do I go about doing this

@amjad05 : As far as I can see you can only set up a DD with New EE BB. You used to be able to set up paying by a bank card with EE legacy BB but it seems no longer. Now you have the choice of either:

  1. Paying part or all of your bill once it is presented by card in your online MyEE BB a/c under Bills & Payments.
  2. Pay by internet or telephone banking

To pay your bill by internet or telephone banking, you'll need:

    • EE bank account: 31012304
    • EE sort code: 40-02-50
    • Payment reference: your EE account number

Please allow at least five working days for your payment to reach EE.

If I choose, option 1, by paying my EE monthly bill in full by card. Will my direct debit still be debited from my a.c?

If I cancel the DD with my bank, will I get penalised from EE?

Hey there @amjad05!
Welcome to the Community 😊

Like @XRaySpeX has mentioned here, the payment options differ slightly depending on what kind of plan you're on.

If you were to cancel a direct debit from your end you wouldn't be penalised provided you continued to make payments on time.

Just to be safe though, I'd recommend reaching out to our broadband team; they can check your account and the status of the current direct debit, and that way we can be sure that you go for the best option to suit you, and also that everything looks good going forwards.

  1. Yes, you could get into a mess there if you leave your DD in place & also pay your bill by card, cuz you can only pay your bill by card once the bill has been posted online but when it is posted  the DD is initiated by EE & applied to the bank at that time. So you will end up with 2 payments for the same month.
  2. If you expect your bill for BB to be about the same each month, as it usually is when you don't have any variable extras, like phone calls, what you could do is pay your best estimate of the forthcoming bill by BACS about a week before the bill is posted. Then the DD won't be taken.
