Multiple SSID - Smart Hub Plus (Please Help)

Hoping one or many of you can help and support.  I have recently joined EE Broadband and for the life of me I can't understand why I am not able to have my 2.4ghz and 5ghz with different names.
I have checked EE website and see the following
Smart hub Pro - Multiple SSID - Yes
Smart Hub Plus - Multiple SSID - Yes with select models/software

I have been sent a Smart Hub Plus which stats its a SH32B on the box - but it is a SH31B, which I can see under the Hub Manager Home>Advanced Settings>Technical Log - Product Code SH31B & Firmware r1.34.1-R-1055417-PROD-83002

I have spoken to EE Tech Support who talked me through their online guidance and said I should be able to do this on the hub but the option is not available.
After many agents and being passed around - they have not deemed that this is only available on the Smart Hub Pro and will cost me £240 over the 2 year contract. Clearly I have refused this offer as this should not be a paid service from a router.

So my question is - does anyone here have a working Multiple SSID on a Smart Hub Plus, if so can you please tell me which version you have and what firmware you are using so I can feed this back to the EE Tech team and the complaint I am raising to the EE Executive Team
Clearly one of the following products allows it: Models: SH31B/SH32B/SH30A
You are able to see this from the following EE webpage: Compare our range of broadband hubs | Broadband | EE

@JimM11 - oh glad I haven’t tbh. But by the sounds of things I’ll enjoy the next round of things

another question - am I right in thinking I can’t name my devices ?? I seem to be getting a mismatch of names from the App and the Hub Manager and 10 devices are called the same thing (so difficult to view off the fly)

@Dr-999 Yes you can rename the devices, only can be done by the app though, if it passes through and the Router accepts then it's ok, if the router does not take the change then it's stuck that way, there is just no happy medium, just a suck it and see what goes...

Rename one on the app, see if it transpires to cross over onto the router, you may have to refresh the router web to see what goes... App is quite sticky so naming generally on it works, router just got a mind off its own will be doing the whole gambit on mine tomorrow and Saturday, the upgrade of FW turned my router upside down and messed it all up....

Got very similar to your situation naming, just have to use the Mac address to work out what is where, nothing else for it.

@JimM11

It’s obviously my lucky day today - all changes via the app worked quickly and the router is now displaying the correct name for the devices. (Just a shame I have to use the app) having to log in every other day is the most annoying thing.

Do you have the EE WiFi Enhancer on your account - if you do, do you notice any improvements to ping and connectivity

@Dr-999 Now that is one that i do not have, not a gamer for sure, that app spends most off it's time in the repair shop or offline not working, but when it does as far as i know the gamer fraternity approve. Search the forum see what it throws up.

Your aiming for three out of three now, glad the other 2 worked out. App is a chocolate fireguard or a chocolate teapot, that is the personal thought on it, mine only....

@JimM11  - just thought I would post an update to the never ending issues.

Whilst I have managed to get all the house connected by using the compatibility mode - I have been struggling with the issue of not being able to use AirPlay due to the issue of devices being on different wifi names.
Main will not allow WPA2, so can move devices to that one
Compatibility - is slow

Devices in the App keep showing as not connected for XXX months, days, weeks etc - example, my phone Wifi- Address is listed in the app 11 times so never know which phone belongs to who.

I have been looking at getting a 3rd party router so I can remove this one and operate correctly - I am starting to feel like I should never have moved from Virgin Media as everything just worked out of the box 😞

In Using & Configuring a Third Party Router you'll find everything you need to set up your router incl. the BB PPPoE creds. which are now the same as BT's.

However if you're taking DV the EE SH+ must be the 1st router connected to the BB.
