Hello,

I am moving house and would like to take my EE broadband with me. At present we pay £28 per month. I have been told that after I move we will pay £36 per month for the same service. I recently renewed my Broadband with EE and am locked for nearly another 2 years. If I want to cancel this contract I need to pay £220, then I would be eligible for EE's new services for Broadband which I am told is cheaper. I am really upset with this situation. I have a contract with EE for BB at a certain price as stated above - now EE want to renege this deal as we are moving house???? I still pay the same price for my mobile phone even though we move house - but BB, now mate we are going to stiff you on that. I now Hate EE and after my contract is up will never ever use them again, I will also let everyone I know what a shabby service they provide. All those slick adverts with Kevin Bacon have to be paid for some how I guess - now I know it by stiffing people like me.

@SeismicSimon Its all about the deals prices etc at the time, but you are the one who moved, and you will also find in your contract about that also.

So moving across town mean an increase of 8 quid a month for the same service - give me a break man!

Also I would like to point out I have called EE twice about this move, and on each occasion I have been given different information about what I need to do. Yesterday the operative on the phone was telling I needed a new phone line installed 🙄 my existing plan has no phone line, so how professional is that?

@SeismicSimon Unless you are on a FF service at the new property, then how does the BB get to that property, do you know if there is an existing line to it, what condition it is in, when it was last used, no doubt EE are probably wrong... Your £220 exit fee is looking better all the time now.

@SeismicSimon  The new phone line install doesn’t necessarily mean it’s for calls it means a new line to that building so you can receive broadband as it’s via the same line.   It’s called a phone line but it serves two purposes, phone calls that you can have as part of your broadband connection and a connection for your broadband even if you don’t have a phone line as part of that contract.

Given your comments and the lack of any movement then you have made your choice and paying off and leaving is your only option. If the price was reduced at the time of purchase then it will likely increase if you move mid term especially as there maybe a cost to connect you at your new residence. 

I would suggest giving EE one last call.

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

Today I called EE and spoke to a Gentleman names Kyle. He was great, got my move arranged, upped my BB speed and it was all for the same price I am paying now. This is what I expected from EE in the first place - honest professionalism. So the moral of this story is don't try calling EE at the weekend when the part time staff / trainees are on the help lines 😉. Needless to say I now will stay with EE. Kevin Bacon, you are back on my Christmas Card list 🍻
