Hi,
I will be out of contract with sky some time soon ... I want to move to EE as i am sick and tired of the code_61 dns setup sky needs that half the time ot doesn't work.
I want to have my UDM Pro connected directly to the ONT and not so double NATing can someone confirm ?
Also I have been with sky for 12 years and never had downtime and always had peak speed at the advertised speeds... can someone assure me I won't have worse service with EE ?
Also can someone tell me is there any fair use policies? Os EE easy to use with my own hardware ( no weird dnw settings needed etc ? )
Does EE offer more than 1 IP if my hardware supports it ? Do they offer fixed IP ?

I want to have my UDM Pro connected directly to the ONT and not so double NATing can someone confirm ? If your router has a 2.5Gb WAN port and can configure it as PPOE then that should be good.
Also I have been with sky for 12 years and never had downtime and always had peak speed at the advertised speeds... can someone assure me I won't have worse service with EE ? EE uses the same lines as Sky so there is no reason why the service should be worse, but no one is going to predict no down time in 12 years.

@Mcatk You need to check if the 1.6gb/s package is fully available at your location. It is not available everywhere. If you go to EE help the terms and conditions are available so you can read regarding usage policy. Also not available will be the EE DV service or (TV service) later for the TV.

So reading their traffic management pdf on the T&C section it seems nothing is managed/ shaped, nothing is blocked and nothing is prioritised.
So it seems free for all and only limiting factor may be genuine network utilisation.
Thanks !

That's right. Fixed BB is unlimited. There is no usage policy nor any other traffic management.

Yes I moved from Sky to the 1.6Gb recently. It was not plain sailing though, took 4 weeks for the changeover, Openreach had problems ceasing the Sky FTTP, but now its working all good.
I use my own router & switch ( Draytek V3912 + Q2200X ), but you can get something a little cheaper. As far as reliability, it uses the same Openreach network as Sky, so you should not get any downtime. I did find with Sky that the router re-booted every few days, don't know why. The EE has stayed up continuously.
There is no fair usage policy, but obviously downloading 24/7 would be taking the Michael and would be unfair to other users.
No fixed IP as far as I know
Hope that of some help

@Brugie58 : No static public IP on consumer plans.

Yes I did actually say that 🙄 "No fixed IP as far as I know"

@Brugie58 : It's the "as far as I know" I was trying to firm up on.
