Hello,
My EE broadband contracts last day is tomorrow (23rd July), I'm on old broadband deal getting there 144mbps fttc service. If I stay with them on the current speed the cost will go from £34 to £44 with a deal or £47 without but will go up again after 1 year.
So anyway planning on moving to another provider who all be it at a slower speed will be cheaper @ £21.
My questions are can I just order now with my new provider with no leaving fee from EE?
Will I need to contact EE?
Do EE send out a box etc to send the router back in and do I need to include all cables or will it just be ok to send the power cable and router ?*
Lastly as I had to have a new phone socket face plate put on to allow me to have 144mbps (g.fast) will this be a problem going down a speed to I'm guessing a non g.fast service?
* Cables are behind a heavy TV unit so I'd rather minimise what I need to do
Thank you

If I'd be in a position to change to them 6 months or so go then they would of as they were last provider to offer it to new customers or existing.
But no I had to drop down to a 67 mb/s service (guaranteed 61), but the router is I think better will let me upgraded to an fttp full fibre service if/when it becomes available to me.
Was looking to save money anyway, and I think apart from when downloading games etc I won't really notice the difference I think.

@wy2kNo problems did not think that they would stretch to it, but some have managed to wangle but it's much off an OR/Sky kind or agreement at the time, if you need me on the sky Forum catch me as JimM1 on it!

Not sure I completely followed what you said there but thank you anyway and I might reach out to you on the sky forum if something comes up thankyou

@wy2k Been a few recent new sky customers got G.Fast connection's with a few problems with it, but as a dying service OR are not interested in looking at it, so they are struggling to max up at the 150Mb/s speed, getting up near the 100Mb/s range but noisy lines and at close to the guaranteed level's, so think that's why Sky have just said downgrade anyone new now let's just not take the chance, don't want the aggro as no one want's to deal with it, to busy with the Fibre rollout's....

Oh I understand now. Shame sky chose to discontinued g.fast as I think I wouldn't have had any issues on it given that I had no issue with EE on it.
Thanks

Any idea why EE keep trying to call me? I keep missing the calls but they've tried 3 or 4 times since I started the process to change broadband provider Tuesday evening

Hi @wy2k,
If you're leaving, the team may be calling to discuss this and see if there is anything we can do to help.
To check for certain the calls are from EE and the reason for the calls, please get in touch with our broadband guides and they can look into the notes on your account for you.

Will my order with my new provider go through and final bill with my last payment to/any refund to me and lastly will you be sending a request etc to return your router?
I just thought your team were calling to see if they get me to stay with you?
Thanks

If your EE router is listed in https://ee.co.uk/help/orders/return-and-recycle-ee-product then EE will want it back; otherwise not.

Thanks looks like I might not have to return anything.
I've got the white smart router with EE branding on it which I got for there retired g.fast 144mbps fttc broadband.
Still will they confirm they don't want it back don't want to take it to the skip and then they say they want it back.
