Lag Spikes on gaming

I have only had my WiFi for like a week or so and I already regret buying this! Any game I play is just unplayable I got this for gaming and I can’t even do that now waste of money! Won’t  be paying for the bill it’s going in the bin where it belongs!

Which router device do you own. 

Are you using WiFi 6, 5 , 2.4 or ethernet.

It jumps to 5 to 2.4

@MarkWOODS1998   You don’t purchase WiFi you purchase a router so what router is it ?   Fixed line or mobile?  Post a picture if possible. 
And if it jumps from 5GHz to 2.4GHz is it jumping the other way 2.4 to 5 ?
