A neighbour pensioner asked for some help to set up his cyber security he got with EE.

I was shocked to see he was paying £68  for just  broadband and a phone and more shocked when  tried to set up Norton Cyber security via  EE email link  it will only send the id code to a EE mobile  or a link to change his number to a EE moblie..no other option......this can't be right....as suspect breaking competitions rules...?

@okcid  You don’t need a EE mobile number to set that up.    As for the BB cost exactly what tariff do they have ?  Are they also paying a fee for a set allowance of calls ?   You pay more when you add more services or have a faster internet connection.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

@okcid Nothing is for free, so it all adds up very quickly on the cost's side!

You do need an EE mobile as states very clearly please enter your EE mobile number...if you put in another. it fails..and if you ask for help..it takes you to a place where you can transfer your number to EE...I'm pretty sure that is not allowed under EU competition rules..

You can get the same deal from SKY for £25  per month...a £55 savings from EE....

@okcid Once again, what are you comparing apples to apples or apples to oranges, Sky does NOT have a security package at all so that is one out off the basket! The cost off a landline given free with the Broadband is astronomical per call that's a major but they do discount the call packages heavily if negotiated correctly, mobiles can be tied in a little but they are treated separate just like there TV Packages 12monthly on mobile and 24monthly on TV. And that is new customer, once all the discount's are gone it get's expensive real quick.
