Internet Outage Maghull

Ii appears the internet is still down in Maghull Merseyside since major damage was made to the underground cables on Thursday during sewer repairs. It's now Sunday 5th of June 26 so its progressing in to a 4th day without any broadband service.  Why don't the utilities companies talk to each other before they begin major repairs on infrastructure.  It's regular occurrence throughout the uk of utility companies creating more damage than repairs. Can we have update from EE as to when this will be sorted.  Highly frustrating not only for me but the whole iof the Maghull area.

@Thralldine6 It is unfortunate but it happens from time to time, this one is not in the hands off EE they only use the supplied service, will be down to OpenReach to carryout the required repair and will also depend on what kind of damage was done.

Hi @Thralldine6

The local council prove the plans and details of services to the contractor but you cannot take into account the people digging the hole.

As @JimM11 says this is not simply a case of plugging a new cable in as there be an insurance claim which will need to establish fault, the council inspecting and then agreeing Openreach can then undertake repairs.

Could be days, weeks or months.

Thanks
