Hello I've recently joined EE broadband with the fiber 67 essential package is it possible to upgrade to EE's hub pro to get better wifi signal and take advantage of the pro hubs wfi 6e and 7 signal?

@popmaster109 NO MODEM mode what so ever on the EE Router, you also have to consider if you have/need landline, you want a modem mode operation with NO landline phone, then you need to go buy something like a Tp-Link VR400 and connect that up and put it into modem mode operation only, same if you want the Asus to connect and work via a modem only mode.

@popmaster109 So you know you are getting a Ferrari to drive at 10MPH down a farmers lane.

This is a non-issue. With an 80 Meg FTTC line there's no gain in looking at fancy WiFi6 and 7 routers. The SH+ will always suffice.

Hi Jim,

As a newbie i would appreciate some more help and support regarding my internal wifi,

What would your best advice be to

A: connect TP-Link Deco X55 or XE 75 6E mesh devices

B: connect a Asus router to the EE SH+ and which Asus router would you recommend and then what equipment if necessary would you then suggest I add to the Asus for my amazon FireCube Gen3 and Streaming component etc

C: Any other suggestions would you bother with EE's wifi Extender?

Many thanks for your help so far it's very much appreciated nick

Hi Jim sorry to bother you but if you suggest the mesh system would you go with the TP-LINK deco or euros mesh system or another company?

Many thanks Nick

@popmaster109 Why would you want to spend money getting the EE Smarthub Pro which is a Wi-Fi 7 router THAT YOU cannot connect to the FTTC connection directly, then add another Asus router on the top of that, £240 over 24 months to add on the Pro, couple of hundred for an Asus router, £50 for an Tp-Link to act as a modem mode so you can connect the Pro to the OR Landline. It just does not equate.

The home network for me is way more important than the Internet side, i move and upgraded from fttc 40/10 to FF 500 package back in Nov as FF became available, with FF 500 i have way more overhead than i will ever need and i selected that speed specific to the family need and usage.

Sit back for a week or so, see how your New Installation with the EE Smarthub+ is going, it is a capable ISP supplied router setup and positioned correctly will do the job, it's wi-fi 6 speed rated so in wi-fi terms it is pretty much up there.

If you still see the need and the rush to get it all done, money is NO object, i do understand about future proof and certainly nearer the time FF may become available to you. Question do you even have a couple of wi-fi 7 devices, latest smart phone, really new and latest laptop/macbook etc....

If you are struggling with signal, and have an android phone, then download the Netspot analyzer app to it, DO NOT GET OR PAY anything, the free part does the job, Wifi inspector will let you see how good your signal is in the area's that you need to check...

@popmaster109 Streaming speed info, and you may have to test the powerline if it is not up to it, hopefully you have NONE of the units on an extension cord....
