@popmaster109 Would be better to know what your Tp-Link model is as they do Ethernet only and Ethernet/Wireless combined version, but any way pretty sure you will have no problem with it, use both version's of the AV600 as do not need the speed, and work's fine with the EE Smarthub+ router. If the Wi-Fi version then you are part way there for coverage, and assume you are doing this as the Fire Cube is no were near the router for a direct Ethernet cable.

If you are happy with this and you are finding that the Powerline is working out good, more of the same wi-fi units can be used to extend further your wireless signal multiples of the same model are fine. Will see what when you post the model so i have better idea.

Hello Jim, please see below the model number for my TP-Link product

(TP-LINK AV1300 Gigabit Passthrough Powerline Extender)

Yes your spot on Jim the amazon FireCube Gen3 is at the furthest part of my apartment from the router in the hallway where the BT master socket is located

Could you please advise me if this set up will it provided me with the best optimal wi-fi speeds and signal strength to the amazon FireCube Gen3 and other devices? OR is their any better Powerline Extenders to purchase?

IE : (devolo Magic 2-2400)?

OR would a wi-fi 6 mesh system make any significant difference to my wi-fi speeds and signal strength?

And if it would can you please suggest what wi-fi 6 mesh system kit you would recommend me to purchase,

Many thanks Jim for all your help and support regarding this issue

Nick

OK Jim once again many thanks for your quick reply and the information you have provided me I'm relatively new to this tech products not all of us are as knowledgeable as your good self and if you had mentioned that you required the TL WA number in the 1st place i would have provided you with them so I now hope

This information is helpful for you TL-WPA8631P

Many thanks Nick

@popmaster109 With a router, and a TL-WPA8631P would have thought that your wi-fi would cover your home pretty good. If you are finding that SPEED is the problem then it may be down to Powerline, but if it is not that and wireless is weak in one area, another TL-WPA8631P unit will cover that. Copy of the Tp-Link info page so you can look.

As you are already a Tp-Link user, and if you find and are happy with there equipment, then look at the Deco X50 range, wireless about your property can be fraught with problems, but the units will match your EE Router when you do get round to that.

Hi Jim, many thanks for your help and support regarding this issue it's very much appreciated 👏, TBH I'm ok with the TP-LINK TL-WPA8631P but the speed to the FireCube Gen3 is about 25mbps and I do get buffering occasionally and especially with 4K movies and sports so was wondering and hoping you or someone here may be able to suggest some alternative devices for optimal wi--fi speeds and signal strength so what would you suggest would be the very best way I could fully optimise my internal wifi, I do realise that I'm starting with a max 74mbps which is the best speed I could hope for with a FFTC broadband connection,

So would another Powerline Extender say the (devolo Magic 2-2400) would this be any better than the TP-LINK?

Or would a wifi 6 mesh system like the Deco X50 be better than the TP-LINK

Or would getting a completely different router to the EE SH+ be a better option?  Can I completely replace the EE SH+ with a 3rd party router?  And if so what would you recommend or if required to use in tandem with the EE SH+

I would very much appreciated any suggestions you could please provide me with

Many thanks Nick

Hi Jim sorry to bother you but can I put the EE SH+ into modem mode so I can use the Deco X55 mesh system?

@popmaster109 As an Asus user myself, then you want to go that way fine, you still have to use the EE Router to connect onto your fttc OR Master socket, the problem with powerline is that signal has to run through all of the electric home wiring, they promise the earth, but cannot deliver on that promise.

Wireless with router's then you can only try and see how it goes, and with Asus the RP-AX58 is available as a AI mesh add on should you need to boost the wireless about.
