Has anyone tried to run a broadband speed test whilst in the Hub Manager.
Everytime i click of the link it takes me to a web page about having an EE registration
Register for an EE ID | Profile Help | EE
How do you run a meaningful speedtest as 'close' to the fibre as possible?

@clivepocock You have found another of the issues, boy you are good, the hub manager speed test does not function at present, been an oops for a little while now, the app speed test is working so-so at present, Normal web speed test function ok, i prefer to use the thinkbroadband.co.uk but fast.com, speedtest.net etc all work with a device connected to the router, wi-fi wireless testing but ethernet connected is best to get you possibly more accurate result. @JimM11 I try my best 🙂 I read the blurb about the guaranteed 700Mbps being to the router - everything else is my responsibility. I have an ethernet connected PC running OOKLA speedtest but of course that doesn't mean the performance of the router. Nevertheless, I am at best getting 600 Mbps but more often than not less than 400 Mbps. On untethere wireless devices I am getting around 10 Mbps in some rooms! I am super disappointed so far. Thanks for your advice and help!

@clivepocock Think the fast test gives the router sync, not sure if it displays correctly on FTTP but does show up on FTTC DSL, hub manager status, and advanced tech log, take a look see, you will come across other issues but let you find them, speed test wireless can be big problem especially if mesh involved, only true test, all wi-fi devices off, test router about 4-6' away and record the results, rule of thumb is 70% rated package speed is good, anything else is a bonus. Are you 1Gb/s or the 1.6Gb/s package. Keep at it but do record your results.👍

@JimM11 I purchased "Full Fibre Gigabit Essentials " allegedly giving me 900 Mbps download & 110Mbps Upload. I will keep at it and keep a note of my findings. Thanks again

@clivepocock Some reading info attached may help.
And for speed related issues good read.
From OR...
1. FTTP is a contended service, up to 32 users can be sharing the 2.5Gb backhaul, so you can never expect the full speed all the time, you may get 900mb when there are fewer people using it. I expect that you are sharing the backhaul with many users. If everyone was using it fully, you may only get 78mbs. Its called statistical multiplexing, which relies on the fact that all users are not utilising their connection fully, all of the time.
BT quote up to 900mb, so you are likely to get much less than that during peak times.
Speed tests pass very little data, so normally give a much higher speed.
2. The max OR connect to a splitter is 30 ( 32 is the splitter maximum but policy is 30 ) not every CBT port provided is likely to have a customer using it , so unless on a ‘new site’ that has no alternatives to OR FTTP the actual number on a splitter is likely to be way less , OR currently have about a 30% take up, so maybe 10 users per splitter , plus the majority don’t take 900Mb but slower profiles , and the chances of those ‘on line ‘ at any one time all and doing something intensive, rather than browsing / Netflix that may be consuming less than 30-100Mb , is slim , that’s why there is a 700Mb minimum speed guarantee on 900Mb …..the 2.4Gb will be plenty ,you would have to be incredibly unlucky to have any consistent congestion.
If you suspect PON congestion, try at a time when there won’t be much activity, late evening or early morning .
Although you have tried somethings to ‘ isolate’ the problem , the most obvious thing to do ( that you haven’t apparently tried ) is use the BT router , without doing that , you haven’t really proved anything , your third party router may great , but even great routers can be mis configured or faulty

@JimM11 That's really useful info Jim - Thank you. I understand what you are saying about multiple users and I guess I am just being simplistic in wanting the guaranteed 700 Mbps to the router. I suppose I could attach the BT router but assume the EE one falls within "what EE can control" according to the guarantee. I have been running speedtest at all sorts of times of the day and it is relatively consistent.
Next step is to contact their tech support once my son finishes work for the day 🙂

@clivepocock It is really hard to work out, as you do not know what wireless side of things is doing, for me simply test is switch everything off, know this is a pain, test ethernet to EE Router, and expect around the 920mb/s mark. Wireless in the loop you just do not know. And you may just find the EE router is not cutting it, so quickly put the BT back, only the ethernet test and see what or if any difference.

Same problem... just an advert page / get am EE ID web page instead of a proper speed test page.
Going in thru my account it "tests" the service, says it is all good but do a test if not happy, which always says there is a network problem to your home. An engineer will have to call. Reset router for best WiFi! I don't use the EE hub + for wifi, just cat7 ethernet to my PC.
First time I went all the way with this and had a couple of calls with a service agent, who was quite helpful ( once I got him off the "wifi issues" soapbox ) who sent me a PROPER EE speedtest utility on a different webpage .... which unfortunately times out after a few days!
He sent me ANOTHER EE+ hub ... which still had old firmware ( 1.35 ) and was even slower than the one I removed! Was on BT 900 mbs full fibre before they decided to put the monthly price up from £42/month ( good previous offer ) to £124/month!! Even retentions only offered £85/month and told me to go to EE if I wanted to pay less for 900 mbs!! The BT smart hub gave reliable 910-920 d/load, 110+ uploads, using the BT Wholesale speedtest.
I tried several speed tests today again, and I got from 300 mbs to over 920 mbs, across about 10 minutes of testing. Including Thinkbroadband, Which?, OOkla, FAST, and even some USA ones on the Spectrum network!!!
Sorry to waffle.

Ohh, forgot to say, since I used the test my broadband in my EE account on 4/9 and 16/9, I have 3 open and 1 closed faults in their system - all say engineer visit needed, 3 say engineer came and fixed it .. reset router to get the benefits ..... I have had NO home engineer visits, the AgNode is 2 doors down and no one has been to see to it ... so a bit misleading from EE re: engineer visits.
Still about 550 mbs using BTW speed tester.
