Hi all.
I'm just migrating from plusnet to EE with an engineers appointment for fibre install for May 19th. I'm getting opposite text messages on alternate days. First day suggesting everythings on track, then next day saying sorry slight delay and repeat. I just wondered if this is usual ? The router and ATA came today, so at least thats here.
Fibre has only just become available here. (rural low population area)

Well the confirmed activation date and time of 19 May 1-6pm came and went with no show. I phoned EE today and the order is being cancelled. Customer services were equally confused over the situation and spoke to OR was told some sort of planning issue. All they could advise was to give it a few days for the cancellation to go through the system and contact Plusnet who are enforcing the migration due to wanting to keep the phone.
Weve had nothing from OR since the 15th . Today is the first time I saw an OR van in our area.
So just trying to get my head around whats happened. Its an overhead cable with clear line of sight to the gable end of the roof. Is there a maximum length of external fibre cable allowed from pole to house?
I'm just so stressed. Weve been busy our end making sure there were no obstacles, cut tree branches, took off a patio roof panel for access which other half is now struggling to put back. I even tidied the back room to give the engineer clear working space.

@Spik3y Found this on the BT Forum.
Overhead FTTP Cable come in pre cut lengths of;
33m, 55m, 105m, 160m and 350m.
The maximum span allowed between the Pole and your house is 68m.
Openreach try to put every property served off a PON within 120m of a CBT but in case where’s that’s not possible that’s why they have the 350m.

So well within cable limits then, so thats not the issue.
Other half wondered if it was down the cost of the install?
Can you clarify PON, will that be from cabinet ??
I had wrongly assumed that if the full fibre was delayed or an EE would connect me to FTTC for now and then transfer to full fibre when available. I assume the problem there is the stopsell thing preventing new orders for FTTC??

@Spik3y PON it just the Passive Optical Network, grouped in units max 32 out and shared, fibre cable runs all the way back to the exchange, CBT is the box at the top of the pole, see the OR picture from the install day.... Yours will be a small one due to only a couple off homes to fibre connect. If FF is available then EE will be blocked on the Plusnet Transfer and NOT allowed to take over the old connection until you are Installed Fibre wise.... Your PN should all still be working currently Broadband and Landline phone.
Scroll down until you see this with the person up the pole ""
We’ll bring the fibre cable from a nearby pole or underground to a small junction box fitted on your external wall.
In some cases, the work may be more complex and require a follow-up appointment.

No, you can still get VDSL as SoGEA (FTTC w/out a phone line).

No wonder you were getting hot and cold messages from EE & still are when they must be getting contradictory msgs from BTw, as your 2 BTw Checker results above show.
What does Openreach Fibre Availability say about Full Fibre at your addy?

I've just spoken to plusnet and all theyve got at the moment is its cancelled no reason given. Plusnet are phoning me back at 1600 tomorrow when hopefully OR may have updated. Meanwhile all they can suggest is phoning ee again tomorrow to see if they have more information.
So really very confused as to whats happening, plusnet seem confused too. They say theres no point in putting another order in with EE until they have more information as it will probably just be cancelled again. I have checked that they have me down as vulnerable, with unreliable mobile signal and wanting to keep the phone line.

@Spik3y Is that your current status, and does EE know that also, when Vulnerable is included, then the whole FF Full Fibre install is treated way different by all OR and EE. Plusnet should not have cut the system off.

Husband has just walked directly accross the field, by his estimation its about 123 metres, the pole is on the other side of the road so + 3 metres there and (+ 3 metres to the house gable end. We have a pole right on our boundary 3 metres from the house. So is the long run likely to be the problem? Or cost to EE?
If so will we ever get full fibre here?
