Guaranteed download speed not high enough to stop service dropping out.

Switched from BT to EE on 05/08, checked that my download speed what at the level guaranteed (44.91Mbps) and all seemed ok for a day or two. Service started dropping out after a few days, went through the test procedure on the EE site and was informed of a fault, engineer was booked to investigate. Started monitoring my download speed and it was only half of the guaranteed speed, sometimes as low as 18.8. Engineer arrived on 13/08 and said the only way the problem could be solved was by asking EE to raise the cap on the download speed. He did this via a phone call after he left and after I reset the hub all was ok again, download speed was back to 50 or more.Within 2 days it all went pear shaped again.I kept a check on how often the service dropped out and it happened at least 4 times a day from 15/09 - 25/09. During this time the speed was generally around what it should be but the service was still dropping, yesterday and today it has dropped out several times and the speed is back down to 27Mbps. Tried phoning yesterday and ended up on hold for what seemed like an eternity while constantly being told by EE how important my call was to them. Really don't know what to do next.

@jaketheplumber When you are in the log, just highlight the event log, select the export, and it will write a file to your hard disk, you can then attach it to the post and will look at it, category to all, level to debug, and all the events will be recorded. As @XRaySpeX  recommends, may be time to get the ADSL filter and put it on the master socket, if that's bad which can happen you can easily get the same effect, all a process of elimination, intermittent faults are a real pain...

Maybe one of the others has a filter you could borrow, worth asking.

I've got the file saved to my hard drive but Windows can't open it so how do I attach it to the post?

What type file is it? It's extension?

Ah, a Spreadsheet! You can only embed images in posts. You could load it into Excel & take Snips of its pages.

Sorry I don't know how to do that, there are 6 pages just for the last two days. I've just done a back count and It's dropped 63 times. I'm not going to wait until 10 days have passed,  I'll have to phone EE tomorrow, this is ridiculous.

@jaketheplumber Double click on the file, open with notepad, take the just once option, when open in notepad, right click on the text area, select all, right click again and select copy, in the post you are replying just right click and paste.

Will be a lot of mac address, but just see if it posts.

@jaketheplumber Any thoughts on wither you could borrow an old adsl filter from someone, the 10 day's is always a stumbling block, but it does sound like there is a cabinet issue, especially if the line was changed, but it also could be Master socket, cable from that socket to the router, bad router or any combination,

Filter plugged in, same fault then Master socket is OK, no fault then Master socket is bad.

This is the best I can do, this is a record from the first time it crashed after the engineer visit.

Yeah, it's more trouble than it's worth! All it can tell you is BB gone down, BB come up & when ... . Never why!

You can count how many times in such & such time and you've already. done so.

It's altogether a pointless exercise & has led you up a blind alley.

UGH! Too late 😞 .
