Ok, I am currently experiencing some connectivity issues which a specific game, namely Destiny 2, but the problems only seem to be occuring with my PS5 consoles. Running the game on my PC or laptop have no issues.
To be clear i am currently using an Asus GT-BE98 and although i have the EE equipment for my 1.6Gps service i have never used them on account of having the Asus. I have tried setting up port forwarding as per the details on the Bugnie forums but it still doesnt seem to resolve the issue.
One thing that has been highlighted to me is that i dont currently have IPv6 configured which may (or may not) be causing my current issues, so the question i ask is there anything specific i need to do to enable IPv6 on non EE equipment? I have had a quick look at the router config and when i select the option to enable IPv6 there are a number of options when it comes to connection type or interface and i dont know where to beging with this, can anyone provide some advice for this?

I only did a few light searches about that router , game & ps5 , it seems there are a lot of issues with that combo , i had a Gateway back in the day that no matter what i did with that, my PS3 , Cod4 , nothing but issues nothing i did made a difference , gateway was fine with everything else all other games & hardware but not that gateway , game & PS3 combo.

Obviously i am not against trying the EE router to potentially rule it out but, it seems odd that nothing has changed in my set up either physically or software that would cause this issue and by software i also include firmware.
I am going to try a forced firmware update to see if that makes a difference

Ok but if you can it would be great if you could try the EE router , i know its a pain in the A** but honestly i wouldn't ask if i did not have this nagging suspicion , ive been in a similar position before with a Gateway , console & particular game before back in the day & i did solve it.

I will give it a go once the wife and kids are in bed.
Out of interest what is it you think is possibly the cause?

I've done some internet searches on this router ps5 & game combo , but nothing concrete , its like PCs...some hardware \software combos just wont play ball ? , but nothing concrete , ill know more once the EE hub is on there TBH , but its cool im up late so its all good
Just out of curiosity why do you use your own router ? , i used to have my reasons back in the day , just wondering.

Well its down to the fact that i have never had a great deal of confidence in ISP hardware, mostly because they usually siphon off some of your bandwidth to provide other customers with wifi access on the go. There is also the fact i like to have my SSID split out so i know which speed i should be getting and when i am not getting that speed its easier to find out why.
The other reason is that past ISP hardware restricts what you can and cant do, i have had ISP hardware in the past that would prevent you from doing the basics like port forwarding!!!!

Ahh the last point i feel your pain !! , i spent 3 years with a provider where you HAD to use their router & it was 100% locked down , the user could not even log into the damn thing it was horrible lol , as far as the EE Pro goes there is none of that as for the Hotspot thing you speak of (siphon off line) yeah its not very much speed but you CAN opt out of it completely , you do it on your online account management page , it takes a few days but only issue is if you "opt out" , you also no longer can use EE wifi hotspots for free witch i suppose is fair enough.
As far as split SSID goes i dont think its a thing here on the EE hubs (unless its well hidden) , for me thats not much of an issue as its just my phone & a few TVs wireless , my tv box Pro & Edge are wired (Have to be as the multicast packet loss issue i mentioned earlier) & my PC is wireless & i literally get everything the connection has (930-950Mbps) its actually over the package stated so im losing nothing through wireless at all , same with consoles i only play offline games so no need to worry & i do get the whole connection to them to in terms of speed so the EE hubs are some of the best ISP provided hubs ive seen in 30 years & i have had lots of them lol

Ok, so i dug out the EE Hub managed to get it all connected and you will no doubt be surprised it worked flawlessly without any config having to be done

Ok this leaves you with a choice to make i guess , Use the EE hub & see how you like it ? , play your games & have fun......Or struggle to find out why that game\gateway\PS5 dont like each other , i mean these things are never that simple i know but at leased we have found the culprit i guess , im glad you can at leased enjoy Destiny 2 on Ps5 now , i dont know maybe set up The pro , set up your devices on it , spend a week & see how you like it ? & just opt out of Hotspot share, anyways glad we found the issue & ruled out all other possibilities.
