Gaming connectivity issues

Ok, I am currently experiencing some connectivity issues which a specific game, namely Destiny 2, but the problems only seem to be occuring with my PS5 consoles.  Running the game on my PC or laptop have no issues.

To be clear i am currently using an Asus GT-BE98 and although i have the EE equipment for my 1.6Gps service i have never used them on account of having the Asus.  I have tried setting up port forwarding as per the details on the Bugnie forums but it still doesnt seem to resolve the issue.

One thing that has been highlighted to me is that i dont currently have IPv6 configured which may (or may not) be causing my current issues, so the question i ask is there anything specific i need to do to enable IPv6 on non EE equipment? I have had a quick look at the router config and when i select the option to enable IPv6 there are a number of options when it comes to connection type or interface and i dont know where to beging with this, can anyone provide some advice for this?

Had a bit if a look around & it seems that thing has a habit of developing issues out of the blue

I get that it cost a lot of money but sometimes we need to accept it aint going to do what we want & get on with the most important thing , the Gaming & whatever else we need the gear to do , anyways hope you get it working but if not just use The EE hub as remember that hub needed no config , no settings & no messing about , thats how it should be , shouldn't have to Mess around with router beyond maybe setting up a static  ip or forwarding a port to play a game properly , i was in this exact postion years back & i happily dumped the gateway & used the one that was hassle free & worked.

I should probably highlight that its not an XT8 i have its the GT-BE98 i have and it was in the region of £720 when new.

I am waiting for a response from Asus and it looks like my problem may have coincided with a firmware update that automatically installed, which is a bit of a guess as we cant tell for sure and if i dont hear anything then i will rollback the firmware and see where that gets me.

£720 2 years ago ?? , does it have a Tv in it or come with a ticket for a date with Kylie Minogue pre packed ? lol what possibly could justify that kind of money for a router ? , what does it do that say a £200 router wont do ? or damn i think the EE Pro goes for only say £50 on amazon

To be honest I got medically retired about 3 years ago and as a result we are completely debt free and have a nice wee nest egg as well (it’s a good pension) so as a result I need stuff to keep me busy so I am a glutton for technology 🤣

I get it lol , i indeed have spent absorbent amounts of cash on certain boys toys , i used to spend thousands on HIFI equipment years ago , so yeah i with you on it  but DAMN !! i really want to know what a router that cost that much does compared to say a half way decent £200 one but yeah being it costs that much i get why you really want it working again  so would i , only suggestion i would have is if you do get it sorted by a rollback etc if there is a way turn off the auto update , sometimes updates are more of Downgrades look at windows 11 update for instance , every accumulative update breaks a load of things , puts ads in & screws up an otherwise stable system, even bricking SSDs !! , im on a 2 year old build , disabled windows update & avoided a TON of issues others are suffering

@soupladel It's a real nice Asus Router, way up there spec wise even allows you to go make a cuppa without breaking sweat, BUT when it does not work head scratching begins, son wanted one for his gaming PC and PS5 Pro, talked him out off it would have had a few issues on his VM 5x hub no modem mode and i did not want the headache going to sort it all out for him....🤣👍

I totally get it its a very Premium piece of equipment if it were me i would want to get it fully working again too , i just didn't know that Consumer Gateways\Routers could get that expensive 😂

@Profile closed Asus has always been expensive but that is because everything you need is built on it and does not cost one penny more were others hide that fact. Not for the faint hearted and at times just a little daunting to say the least. Gamers do love them to death, not for me just not a spider lover.

I had an ASUS motherboard that far outlasted its sell by date , had it 8 years with extreme overclocking , that was the same though built to last but very temperamental at times.

I have been building PCs for over 30 years and I think all but one have been ASUS boards and that one board was a Gigabyte and it really didn’t last long. In fact the only board I had fail on me was my ASUS X670 board and the only reason it failed because I made a mess of the install and bent pins  on the CPU install on account of only having one eye I can see out of properly
